    Lol, what??

Then again, you STILL believe David Harris was a bad resigning, so I don't know why I'm shocked at what you write anymore.

This in a nutshell, Fitz isn't great by any means but he's not "actively" putting us out of games the way both Sanchez and Geno could with their dimwittedness in the pocket. I can not even begin to describe how nice it is to see a QB back there not taking silly sacks and creating silly turnovers when they should have clearly thrown the ball away. Fitz does have his issues with locking in on throwing it up and the more than occasional toss into triple coverage. Still, it's nothing like the last 3 guys.

Not only that, he has been more than adequate. Is he playing "lights out", no. He's almost guaranteed to have 1 bad pass picked off every game, but he's been the best thing since Favre before he hurt his shoulder.
on another note...I can't believe how well he runs.

All I've read on this and other boards is how "if we could just get average QB play we can win" or "with a great defense all you need is a game manager".

It's not an aspirational thing, it's just the reality of the situation.

We have a great defense, a great running game and we're finally getting average game managing QB play.

    Yet folks want more.

But this isn't Fan Duel or Draft Kings, it's not weekly fantasy football where we can take our 4-1 team, go plunk down $7800 and pick up Aaron Rogers for this upcoming game.

We are what we are--we're going to play competitive football for the foreseeable future.

Are we knocking off the Pats or getting home field throughout the playoffs or winning a SB?

    Not likely.

Again, I've never aspired to have an average game managing QB--some day I want an elite guy.

But I also don't aspire to be watching non-meaningful games in October, and hoping for the first pick of the draft and trying to watch more college football than the Jets in November to figure out which college QB we should draft.

I want a SB as much as possible.

But until we have that elite guy, I'll be content watching competitive football and possible playoff football.

I think, because of our team success, folks are hoping he becomes something he is not.

    They now want lights out.

    It's not happening.

He is who he is. Which is not bad.

    And he's all we've got.

AFC is shit this year, if this team stays healthy - they could break through and make some noise. 2nd best defense in the entire conference, we got the league's leading rusher and 2 beast receivers. Never thought I would say that with Fitz at the helm, but that's the reality of the situation. The offensive line has been stellar.

Ravens are done, Bills have regressed, I am still not sold on the Bengals, Dolphins are overrated fucks and people think the Broncos should sign Tebow. I like where we are at right now, just gotta continue to improve.

It's just the Smith Fans. They are really awful. They were hoping Fitzpatrick would play worse and the Jets would lose, so that the CS would be forced to bring Smith in. That's not happening, so they are nitpicking. It's so F'ing obvious.

Where exactly did I say anything negative other than Fitz's age? I said he was what the Jets have needed for a long time. So where exactly did I say anything that required a 'draft kings' or propose the Jets make a deal or put someone else in at QB? Frankly this team can make it deep in to the playoffs if they stay healthy and continue to take care of the football. Fitzpatrick won't win you many games, but he's not going to lose you many either and with the way this team is currently built that is more than sufficient. Would I like a more dynamic QB? hell yes, but that's not an option this season and may not be an option next season.
As long as Ivory stays healthy and the receiving corp stays healthy the defense is more than capable of keeping the Jets in most games. at least that's how it appears, we do have to bear in mind the Jets have not played any team that is currently over .500. But this team is good enough I think to win 11-12 games this year....if they stay within themselves and stay relatively healthy.

Fitz may not be the best, but he is the smartest QB we've had since chad. It's a breath of fresh air after watching the dumb play of sanchez, favre, geno, and some fill ins

At this point, I'm pretty much sold on the Bengals. Don't know how you aren't. Granted, I can't see Dalton keeping up what he's been doing, but they are most balanced team in the AFC, in my opinion.

Pats, Bengals, Jets and Broncos are the 4 best teams in the AFC this season.

It could be that Fitz locked in on Enunwa or simply was trying to build his confidence and help him become a better player since he has potential, or it could be that he just didn't see Stacy, or thought Enunwa could gain more yardage. No QB is perfect or is gonna have a perfect game. It doesn't really matter on one or two isolated plays what the QB does or doesn't do as long as they don't become the predominant pattern. As long as the team is winning, everything is good (or should be) in Jetsland.

steelers deserve consideration. they are winning without ben right now. when he comes back they will be even better.

Steelers and jets should be the 2 wild card teams with NE, Indy, Cincy, and Den taking the 4 divisions. We will really want that 5 seed to play Indy in the 1st round instead of cincy or Den

I agree. Plus, if they have any idea about trading Kerley, they need to boost his trade value by getting him some playing time and giving him a chance to do something on the field other than return punts, which is the worst part of his game.

A 4-1 record going into the last week of October is meaningless? Holy shit. Some of you guys are simply unbelievable. After all the years where the Jets have been the laughingstock of the NFL, a circus, and found new ways to lose, we have a team that has far exceeded expectations. The offense is in the top 10 in the NFL!!!! NO ONE expected that before the season. NO ONE! You can't freaking enjoy that or think it has any meaning? The D is in the top 4 in the NFL and Richardson just came back. The Jets truly have a great shot at making the playoffs when we have a new HC, and new offensive and defensive systems, and the season is meaningless?
