Only thing I can think of is the ball slipped out of his hand due to the rain.

Still, that's a gimme throw. Had hoped he had completely eliminated those but now we just have to hope that one really was due to the rain and not the yips coming back.

He’s improved plenty. Why don’t you root for San Diego next Monday.

For me the biggest Wtf moment was the 4th down at the end where he took the sack. Don't the coaches tell him the game is over if you don't throw it, toss it up and hope for a fluke or a penalty? Anything else but a sack and he takes the sack.. Similar to a drive or two earlier when he takes the sack instead of throwing it away, these are permanent Zach problems. He has made improvements but the holding onto the ball doesn't seem correctable after years.

I can't believe the "he didn't play bad but not great" posts. HE PLAYED BAD. HE USUALLY DOES. We snatched a win from the jaws is defeat I'm thankful but anyone who can't admit ZW is not good simply can't be helped at this point I'm sorry.

Multiple interceptions, low completion ratio when you don't factor in the large number of drops.

He played bad until those two huge throws he made at end of regulation that saved the game. All the haters are conveniently forgetting that like that’s some afterthought. Those throws can’t be ignored. We all know he was awful before that.

I saw some stuff from Zach that I haven't seen before and I'm interested in seeing more. We don't have any better options beating the door down. I didn't expect anything to happen for the offense after that PS guy started snapping the ball. Zach played through some serious adversity and came through in the clutch. That is progress.

He did look like shit for a large majority, I don't agree that he is "above average" that some people want to give him credit for being in this thread. In this day and age though, the difference between "shitty" and "above average" doesn't seem that far apart, objectively. There has been some really bad QB play from what I have seen.

Let’s go with the rain it looked to me like the ball came out funny as in wet funny….

There were several costly drops yesterday as well. Zach’s below 50% completion rate from yesterday probably above 50% with no rain …

He regurgitates the same selective out of context set of random stats week after week. Not worth responding. Zach did not have a good outing, no question there, but his assertions on Zach are laughable.

I think this is fair. Zach didn't have a good game by any stretch of imagination. If Giants say run on that 4th and 1 and win, the grade would be D at best. But that's not what happened. We can't take away his amazing end of the game and OT performance, and that does bring the grade up to about C- as you said. And while Zach wasn't good himself, he didn't exactly get a lot of help. It looks like WRs were rarely open before the pressure came. And there was a A LOT of pressure. Even on that game winning PI throw, he got drilled as he was throwing the ball. Offensive line was a joke to start the season, and is even worse now. Play calling has a lot to be desired also.

It Was the Worse of Times, It Was the Best of Times.

For 59-1/2 minutes, Zach Wilson was the worse QB in the League. For the final 24 seconds, Zach was the best QB in the Nation, hands down. So weird. If they can ever get ZW to play like he played at the end.....wow.

Some of the takes on Wilson be having me feel like I’m in the twilight zone. How can a player be bad 98% of the game and people have the nerve to even suggest that they actually weren’t so bad? I mean it takes grading on a curve to a whole other level. I can’t think of another player that has been so coddled with respect to criticism from the team, surprising amount of fans, and certain number of high profile sports pundits. It’s a bit perplexing!

There was one other. With him, it was, as some say, a religious experience...

Kid may have dementia because he’s only lucid a few times per game.

Also, where’s the “Graham Gano appreciation” thread?

I watched the game at the bar, where they put the JETS on a shitty tv location, and had audio of the JAGS game playing, so it was hard to pay close attention. Rewatching the pass plays, he wasn't as terrible as I first thought. I'm NOT saying he was good at all (outside that small final stretch), but given the very low bar for him, it definitely wasn't his worst game ;) Really won't be able to tell without seeing the all-22 angle, as his constant theme is not even trying to hit receivers about to be open (which often gets missed on the tv broadcast just focusing on the ball)

There's no doubt this was a step back for Zach, but not a huge one. The key now will be if he slips back further, or if he rebounds and continues to make the modest progress he has made over the last few games.

Yes, we saw some worrying regressions - the miss of Breece Hall was bad, but you can clearly see that the ball slipped out of his hand. Yes, running back out of the pocket triggered traumatic flashbacks, but on that occasion he really didn't have anywhere else to go and he still managed a completion.

As for the drops - I think these are mostly cancelled out by the occasional bad throw, so I don't think it is helpful to say that if none of his passes were dropped his figures would have been better. I just think that levels out over a game or season, so a quarterback really gets the numbers he deserves.

Overall, I don't think he was as bad as some on here do. I still see a big improvement over his first two seasons. He is throwing the ball with zip and accuracy into some tight windows and he is also mostly making the easy throws look easy now. I think he is still in the bottom half of starting QBs in the league, but he is a long way above where he was last year. I am still hopeful.
