Where did that come from? People are speculating Trey Lance will go 3. Sam is having the same problem Sanchez had the same problem. Why make it about race.
I have my preference, but whomever we pick I’m 100% behind. In retrospect I watched a shit load of USC football in the past and never seen the kind of throws, speed wise, I saw today from our last two USC QBs.
If people had issues with Fields, it was because he was a QB from Ohio State. Not because he was dumb or black.
What an absolutely ridiculous article. It's claiming racism because people didn't make enough of a big deal about a record number of black QB's starting? How do you not see how patently absurd that is? A) The premise is based around a record number of black QB's starting B) People didn't make enough of a big deal about it, hence, racism? Lmao
I don't understand the Wilson hype personally. I keep watching his film, I just don't get It. The more I watch him, the more I feel like I'm watching a stronger armed, Colt McCoy. The injury history (why Is nobody talking about the fact he is injured AGAIN at his pro day?), the lack of competition, his mechanics are flawed overall, and his lackluster 2019 season... His draft stock soars out of nowhere, which also concerns me a lot. Typically someone that has their draft stock jump off the page like this doesn't usually pan out. I think he is fool's gold. I hope I'm wrong because It sure looks like we are going to pick him. I'm not confident at all In this kid.
You are speaking from your perspective; it doesn’t mean everyone is coming from the same point of view. Phrases like times “processing speed” & “mental aspects” are sometimes code.
Let’s stay on topic, you are praising the Dolphins for a rebuild that you claimed started in 2019, they went 5-11 and they traded away Tunsil for a first round pick from theTexans and Minka to the Steelers for a first round pick. They didn’t trade back until this year, they traded players like Tunsil and Minkah for future picks. It’s the same thing Joe D did with Jamal Adams. They had an average draft in 2019, in 2020 they used their first round pick 5th which came from their 5-11 record to address their QB need, Tua. They then used pick from Pittsburgh (18) to pick up Austin Jackson from USC. They then used the 30th pick from GB to grab a CB. Their 2020 draft was the key draft with 11 picks and addressing their QB and oline needs. Jets have 9 picks in this years draft, they are going to do the same thing Dolphins did, they are going to address QB and other positions of need with their first five picks. As far as the record is concerned, if Jets address their QB issue in this years draft and give him help and protection like Dolphins did when they drafted Tua last year, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a much improved record. 10 and 6, I don’t know but it won’t be 2-14. Now in 2022 where Jets have two first round picks, if they have their QB and majority of skilled positions all set, you will see Joe trade back his highest first rounder and parlay that into more picks and continue to stockpile players. You are killing Jets and praising Dolphins yet both teams are using same plan for rebuild. Dolphins started in 2019, when they traded away big name stars for future draft picks in 2020 and 2021. Jets started in 2020 when they traded Adams for Seattle’s first in 2021 and 2022.
Another ridiculous claim considering our main complaint about Darnold is that his processing speed and mental aspects are absolute garbage.
I would say I am more favorable in getting a black QB than another boring white QB. I never judge a player based on his race and never will. I swear I wanted so much to prefer Fields over Zach. My view is solely based on their talent on tape. I really really like Wilson quick throwing motion and ablity to make all the throws and how he process the fields. I have seen lately a lot of folks putting the race card in their view of Fields vs Wilson. (On youtube mostly) A lot of people cannot believe that such a succesful and physical freak like Fields can be overlook by a skinny one year wonder injury prone playing in subpar division. It simply does not make any sense other than race...
I'm not a big college football fan. I really don't watch it and I rely on several posters on here for what I consider an knowledgeable opinion. You were one of them. It's going to be hard to take you seriously after this post. Just awful.
Congrats welcome to the club. Mine was a breeze. Took about 10 minutes. The drive there was the pain.
I have not heard anything talk about Fields or Lance for that matter going back to school by anybody. Trey would make sense because he did not play last year. They will both be first round draft picks so if somebody did say that they are fools.
With the throwing as the clear highlight of the day, I haven't really learned any more than what I already knew from his college season. The biggest highlight I feel was his measurement. Some were saying the guy is 6 feet 190 lbs, 6'1 200 at best. He has completely blown this out of the water, coming in over 6'2 and 214lbs. This erases a HUGE unknown and a giant concern. It may not be a coincidence Miami moved down after the the measurements took place.
Darnold THE PROSPECT was praised for his processing speed & mental acuity. It’s one of several reasons why so many in the draft punditry refuse to acknowledge that they may have been wrong. Mel, McShay, Orlovsky and the like still are still holding on to their Darnold stock.
