Turned on SF A couple minutes ago Trey missed a 10 yard throw by 6 feet and the hometown announcer is talking about the pressure he was looking at. Didn’t see much. Yeah.
Mac Jones looked very comfortable in the Pats offense, processed the field well, threw very accurately with good ball placement on shorter passes and had 2 long incompletions (1 should’ve been caught for a TD, the other was overthrown but on line) — he looked like a veteran out there, his poise was very impressive, he probably will be the Game 1 starter Zach threw a few ropes tonight with good accuracy, looked uncomfortable in his first series but settled down after that, looked like a typical rookie QB in his 1st preseason game, tough to project too much from this game but he certainly has a very strong arm and a nice release as well
I love thinking today about how far we’ve come and how far we have to go. In this crazy world to have wings and sausage and peppers delivered to watch preseason football. It means a lot.
3rd down was what counted. Nobody looked anything like him on 3rd down and 3rd down is the only thing that matters in this league. Take away the PI which was off the ball and give him credit for converting the 3rd and 14 with a real 4th down play call that’s 3 for 4 3rd down conversions in 10 throws.
Zach played exceptionally well on 3rd downs Now go enjoy that oatmeal chocolate chip cookie I just served you
Was getting ready to go out, I'll watch the whole game tomorrow. First impression is pretty much what's to be expected from a rookie's first time out. A lot of handoffs, a couple of good throws, a few bad ones and the one he threw to Kroft (I think) who had been on all fours once he was engaged never should have been thrown. In real time that might have been a pick six. No reason to not remain in the wait and see stage for at least a couple of months, as expected. Nothing quick about this process.
Honestly trying not to wear the green glasses but after watching Lawrence, Fields and Wilson I truly believe Wilson looked the best. Still incredibly early but just being honest from eye test.
Thanks for these. My opinion - The Jags will get their money's worth, but I'm still convinced we got the better QB. Jones went to the perfect situation for him - BB will have him run that dink and dunk offense, and he has the arm to strike deep once in a while...again, we got the better QB.
Mac Jones is going to be a headache in that system. It’s going to be the AFC East vs KC for a long time.
I saw him--played 2 series--got sacked a couple times--was poised and made some nice throws. Stayed in pocket exclusively.
I thought Wilson looked great for the first time. You love to see those 3rd down completions, and the 3rd down completion to Kroft he threw with a defender bearing down on him. Very encouraging I thought. Also, you can already see the line is so much better than what Darnold had, jets have done a good job re-tooling there. The addition of Moses should not be overlooked. Jets now have reliable bookend tackles, and what should be a very good LG in AVT.
Nothing not to like about Zach tonight. Looked confident in the offense. Good feel for whatever pressure he got. Arm looked strong. Mobile and accurate. Good start.
which is why a practiced onservant eye... hopefully one which does not let rooting bias interfere..and critical thinking are so important. it makes it easier to spot the agenda so much more easily.
