Yeah Robinson is another good one. Spent 5 years with the Rams prior to the Falcons. I like Vrabel a lot as a candidate but I just think we need stability on offense until we find a good young QB in the draft. Vrabel's offenses in Tennessee also declined pretty significantly throughout his tenure.
Vrabel would be good - he had a better record than any multi-year Jets coach other than Parcells people say his offense declined year on year but he was basically stuck with Tannehill as his QB who I don't think anyone would consider a top tier QB and you can't succeed long term without one.
I don't follow enough to know a name, but I would like someone who is from the offensive side and who will actually hold players accountable.
The Jets aren't the only team with problems in this league. If you're looking for a head coaching job, 9 times out of 10, you're going to end up on a team with problems and a decent amount of dysfunction to correct. That's going to mean choosing between teams like the Jets, Browns, Jaguars, or Panthers. If Rodgers is here next year, there's no reason that someone like Vrabel wouldn't be interested.
I don't know. It doesn't seem like Saleh is the guy. He's a DC and he's just not improving as a head coach. No accountability and no understanding of how to build a modern, competent offense.
Kliff Kingsbury should be a thought. The Cardinals got better three straight years under him and made the playoffs at 11-6. They got off to a bad start in 2022, Kyler gets hurt and then Kliff gets scapegoated. Now he has that offense absolutely rocking again.
As a bills fan, I personally don’t see Brady as HC material, but I do think DC Babich will be a great one at some point. He is young, energetic, works tirelessly, and is a leader. Before he was DC, he worked as a position coach in LB and secondary. In both places, he took guys who were late round picks and turned them into pro bowlers. Guy is just awesome. He’s a little green right now, so maybe he’s not an option next year, but he’s going to be a hot candidate shortly.
I like Vrabel but isn't that just more of the same?? Give me anyone who can build a modern NFL offense. I think it's easier to pair an offensive head coach with a solid DC than the other way around
I think Vrabel is the only choice, but until then, I'm very curious to see what Ulbrich does. At the beginning of the season, prior the disastrous start, he was a "hot" name for next years coaching cycle. Lets see if we can catch lightning in a bottle (unlikely, we're the Jets) finally. That said, Vrabel should be the only choice. Dude got his team ready to play every week and even made in game adjustments, something we as Jets fans know very little about. I'm tired of going after the hot young coordinator. Vrabel is a proven commodity that is young enough to be here for a while.
I don’t know why I’m saying this, but I have a gut feeling that Ulbrich is going to do enough this year to warrant him getting a long term offer. Something about him makes me think he’ll be a very good leader, and that the players respect him.
Monken Phillips (Minny OC with that Rams connection, also Wade Phillips son) Johnson I'd be happy with any of those. I'm sure there are others. I don't think Vrabel will come here or Belicheck.
