Yeah…I’m not saying Glenn isn’t a worthy HC candidate…I do like the former NFL player pedigree, and he was not only a very good player, but a very good player for US, which is a nice point too. Still…for SO long, we’ve been one of the worst offensive teams in the league. It’s been way too long. I just very strongly feel that we need an HC that knows offense. I’m so tired of seeing us languish offensively…we aren’t winning anything this way.
I honestly don't care if it's a first-time HC, retread, defensive mind or offensive mind. A great coach doesn't need to fit into one of those molds. I'm warming up to Aaron Glenn. Looking for a HC who's a leader, can run a tight ship without being an authoritarian control freak, and comes from a winning culture. Some of those things aren't knowable to me, but Glenn checks some boxes and if he brings some guys from Detroit's staff, all the better.
I wonder if Rex or Gruden would take a co-ordinator job under the other guy? They are both begging to get back in the league and they are two sides of the same coin. Rex already said he considered taking the Cowboys DC job. Gruden might not be able to get anyone to give him an head job right now (because of the stuff that got him blackballed).
His passion for the game and how all the players loved him regardless of race. Plus, he's still young(61) and has been a film junkie since he left.
The league would never let him back in the league. He sued them. I also think that’s probably overthinking it. Gruden’s an offensive coach that never really had a good offense. And his offenses were behind the times scheme wise in Oakland the second time around.
Your first sentence here says it all. Your second here provides the grounds for my "no court" statement. The Kaepernick case is the perfect example; the league didn't settle with him because they thought he was a nice guy.
How much has it hurt the league though? They threw him some chump change and said Keep Fucking Off, Colin. Huge corporations don't have to do things legally, they just have to have a slush fund big enough to cover the fines and settlements. (and bribes)

The point is that the way the NFL makes problems go away is to throw money at them. There's no way the league wants a judge or jury to decide how much it costs them to fix things they caused. The courts don't take kindly to restraining the ability of even highly paid employees to make a living inside monopolies.
Ben Johnson is probably the #1 HC candidate by a considerable margin. Pretty much no chance he comes to the Jets though unless we pay him an obscene amount.
Money is one thing, but more important how much latitude and authority will he have. Same for the new GM. Micromanagement by ownership will never be considered by winners.
He will probably go to the team that has a young good QB, kinda like Harbaugh with the Chargers. Let's what the options will be.
