He was only 5/10 in Chicago over 40 yards so your point might be valid. That’s also a tough place to kick though.

We need to sign a kicker badly in the off-season though. Or bring in more retread NFL kickers like the real NFL franchises do. Not these rookies.

Now that we have a kicker that can kick short, we can start looking for an upgrade. Like a guy that can kick short and medium. Then, once we're ready for the big time, find a guy that can kick short, medium, and long.

Why do I think they will replace this guy with a guy that can't kick at all?

Well, Amradola could kick the ball into downtown Manhattan but had a case of the yips. That other kicker Douglas signed a few years ago first game against Buffalo he blew a couple of extra points. The Jets lost a close one that day. We have been as cursed with kickers as we have been with coaches and quarterbacks. Just another layer of frustration being a Jets fan.

That Douglas just let walk away. Pretty soon the finger pointing is going to be in Douglas's direction.

Does it matter cause they had kickers and let them walk for nothing and have been on the kicker merry go round since. Joe Douglas was here when Myers left crackhead.

Did you want JD to tag the kicker?

Of course not but he never even made an effort to keep Myers. Same with Maccagnan not trying to keep Folk. How many kickers have we been through? How many have blown games? You would think that would be an issue but the Jets don't seem to think so. This is why we are the bottom feeders of the NFL. But as Jets fans, we just accept crap like that.

How do you know JD never made an effort?

You’re probably the type who doesn’t trust MSM so I’m surprised you trust sports reporters so much

I would, personally, NOT spend money on a K for a team just starting a tear down before a rebuild.

Are we really surprised the Kicker from the west coast who was on the Seahawks, went back to the west coast and back to the Seahawks? You really wanted us to break the bank on a kicker? For a 2-14 team?

I would have sworn it was Mac that didn't keep Myers, how time erodes the memory.

    Edit

Mac was fired by the Jets on May 15, 2019, and was replaced by Joe Douglas in June 2019.

On March 14, 2019, Myers signed a four-year, $15.45 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

your point is... not INVALID by any means... but... ya think we had a quality enough team that the K made the difference between ULTIMATE SUCCESS and Jets being the Jets?

(if we lost in 2009-2010 cos we didnt have a K, that would be a strong case...

a W here and there over the last 10 yrs actually doesnt mean jack shit in the bigger picture)

Sorry I would like the Jets to be successful every year. Rooting for high draft picks is getting old and just not working. Mentioned the Jets to people the first response is sorry to hear that. So yeah I wish they were winning more and not having to discuss whether we can find or better yet keep a competent kicker.

With the Jets having trouble scoring points I would think a kicker would be essential. So what if you're breaking the bank you got a bunch of scrubs on the roster just cashing a check. Remember it was a teardown points have to come from somewhere.

its always better to have a competent K, sure. but a K is NOT the KEY type of player that this team needs... it a sea of needs, the K?? really?
and extra 15-20 pts a year is not maybe a win or 2 a year...
