You should be. Picturing the Yankees right now is disgusting.

What's the link for this story? There hasn't been any mention of this anywhere else I've seen, and I can't even find the source for this one.

I was just going to ask the exact same thing. No other sports site or the Yankee site has a word on this. They actually quote him which makes it impossible to believe it wouldn't be somewhere else unless it's total bullshit. Not a word in any of today's NY papers. This just doesn't pan out.

Torre never would have thought to start Brunney and use his starting pitcher to finish the game. What out of the box thinking, and it is already paying dividends. Oh wait....

No one gave up a run till Farnsworth typically collapsed.

The Yankees just didn't bother to score any runs.

In other news, the Yanks expect that Posada will not take a trip to the DL. In a way, I'm almost disappointed.

Maybe Posada should play a few games at first now. It's not like Giambi is hitting like he's supposed to when playing the field, and Molina has been very good.

The Yankees have scored 25 runs in the first 9 games. At that pace, they'll score 486.

How much are these guys making?

Better to be bullshit than real in this case.

Me too. Molina is playing light years better than Posada right now. I would expect them to share starts and not seeing Molina just once or twice a week.

I wouldn't go as far as light years. When healthy, Posada is an underrated defensive catcher. He's also a cleanup-worthy hitter on probably more than half the teams in baseball.

However, right now, he's struggling offensively (3-17, .176), and his bum shoulder is making it tough for him to throw guys out.

All I'm saying is that I'd like to see Jorge take a couple weeks to get to full health before he causes himself any further harm. In the meantime, Molina is a great option. He's getting on base, and his defensive skills are great. (I love those snap-throws to first. I used to do that myself.)

I don't worry about the slumping hitters. If it weren't for the fact that it's the very beginning of the season (and that it's half the lineup), we'd hardly notice these "slumps."

I bet 95% of players in the majors have at least one 3-17 stretch (or worse) every season.

Giradi is going to have Molina pitch and Pettite catch tonight. He is reinventing the game this guy.
