Big difference between a slight fist pump as you round first after hitting a go ahead homer late in the game and clapping in the opposing catcher's face after hitting a 5th inning homer. Especially when the second guy makes a habit out of being a pile of shit. Fist pumping all the way to the dugout after a strikeout as a matter of routine. As if he's the one that struck him out.
You're right. The biggest difference I can see is that one of those situations is being played down while the other is being blatantly exaggerated in the name of homerism. I can see why players find Cervelli annoying. A fan being affronted by it is a joke.
Swisher forgets how many outs there are and bunts Cano to third with 1 out. There aren't enough facepalms in the world to describe that.
AJ with 5 decent innings. Joe better get the arms warming at the first sign of trouble in the sixth, we're actually in this one.
And here comes the whining and calling for retaliation for a HBP that couldn't possibly be less intentional.
It was a curveball that got away, chowder boy. No one is whining. Throwing at Red Sox players is justified simply because of the jersey they are wearing, though, so I am in fact calling for Yankee pitchers to throw at Sux players more often.
Definitely the right time to get AJ outta there. Iffy call by the ump, but a frustrated AJ is a very bad pitcher. Gotta give him credit tonight, he kept the team in the game, and if the Yanks did anything with RISP he'd have left with a lead.
Strong effort by AJ tonight. He didn't have great fastball command but his curve was sharp, and he kept his composure on the mound. He should still get yanked from the rotation, but had a really nice start in a big game. Let's finish this sucker.
Excuse my ignorance...but how the fuck does a 4-2 game go four fucking hours long??? And, it's not even over yet.
