We're just a train wreck. Good game Robby, keep making his half hustle throws, I love them.

I mean what the fuck? Every piece of this team has a flaw each game, if the bats are hot, the pitching sucks, and visa-versa, the pen, defense, Torre, when does it end?

I couldn't be happier if Abreu is shipped off 1st thing tomorrow, he's just a worthless pile of trash.

Torre is on the egde of the cliff, if he gets swept, and then loses 2/3 to Boston...His ass better be fired.

I can't stand Abreu. He is completely worthless. How soon can they get him out of here?

At this point just stick Melky out there, granit he isn't firing it up either, but i'm just sick of seeing Abreu's face.

I don't care if the Yankees have to pay $10 million of his $15? million to send him the hell outta here.

His contract is up after the season, but I don't want to wait that long for him to be out of here.

Hopefully as we progress we move towards younger kids w/ some free agents. Jose Tabata should be a keeper in the outfield and we have other arms down in the farm with a lot of potential i.e. Humberto Sanchez, Joba Chamberlain, Dellin Betances. That being said, enough with the 2008 forecast. The number is 7.5 not 10. Were 7.5 out of the wildcard with 121 games to go. Lets get it done

You know, I'm not a big fan of how Melky swings wildly at the plate, but I'd happily take him over Abreu in right, simply because at least Melky is always trying. We'd still be weak defensively in left, well, and center, and second, but at least it would be one less lazy ass in the lineup.

Cano has reached the absolute end of my patience too. He celebrated his homer today like he just nailed a walk-off, and then proceeded to crap away the game. He sleeps the entire time he's on the field, then sucks down 30 swizzle stix before he comes to the plate. He's a waste. I'd rather have Cairo at second, and I can't stand Cairo.

Torre's got to go. There's no patience at the plate anymore. There's no motivation on the bench. There's no concentration on the field or basepath. All of the supposed "hallmarks of a Torre team" don't exist anymore.

I have said it since Willie left, he was the key to the team. I know Mets fans have had their problems with him, but I still truly believe he was the biggest key on the coaching staff to the Yankees style of play that won titles.

Geez, what a sloppy game. I couldn't even enjoy the win all that much because The Show has been making me sick to my stomach the past week out there. On top of that, Wagner's throw to home and timely almost-meltdown made my dinner come up a little.

For you guys who read my post in the "10 games down" thread, I think that Cano's play today pretty much epitomizes what I think is wrong with that clubhouse. The laxadasical (sp?), non-caring attitude that he played with today comes from above IMO and still starts with Torre, regardless of the fight that these guys showed once Glavine came out. Cano, still being a very young player who has loads of potential, should be working his ass off to get to where the guy next to him at SS has gotten to. Instead, he makes a lazy throw to first, showboats on his HR, and somehow misses a routine bouncer among other things. If I were a Yankee fan, I'd worry about this attitude rubbing off on guys like Hughes when they're finally up here and healthy, as keeping the boys hungry is the only way you can really get them to effectively develop.

On the bright side, Posada's been unreal this year and it's too bad that him, Pettite, and Jeter (all guys from the 96-00 teams) are the only ones left showing any fight.

^Interesting comment about Willie, Alio. You're the first one I've heard bringing that up but looking at the Mets' current clubhouse atmosphere and style of play, it's not out of the question that Wille was the compliment in the clubhouse that Torre needed to keep everything running smooth.

It looks like it's just one of those years, we haven't had one in a while but to have another pitcher get knocked out in the 1st b/c of injury- amazing. Congrats Met fans, you guys definitely have the better team right now.

Canue and Abreu are at the end of the line to me, but Robby is one of my favorites, so I still will give him time...

What i'm sick about is him just playing half-assed, as if last year he did what he needed to do and that was it, like now he just has to "show up" and he'll be fine. I can't count how many times he would hit a ground ball and he would just put his head down and jog to 1st base, now i'm not saying do a dead sprint, but some sort of hustle would be nice...And does the Manager say anything to him about that? A KID WHO WOULD LISTEN TO TORRE...Canue, Melky, and that's probably about it are like the only 2 guys on the team who would actually listen to Torre and feel a little intimidated for Torre calling them out...Melky plays hard all the time, I appreciate his effort...

But Cano and Abreu just don't give a shit right now. But Cano still has to be out there, despite his horrid start and game yesterday.

While I would love to bust out the brooms tonight and as much as want to see you suck I don't want the Yankees to be an embarrasment. I like all the regular Yankee posters on this board and I feel bad for you guys. I will talk trash and I will rub it in but it's only May and I think you guys are far from out of it. IN fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Clippard provide a spark for you guys tonight the same way Hughes did.

In all honsesty tonight is huge for you guys, you absolutely need Clippard to have a good outing because Boston has a better lineup than the Mets and if your pen gets alot of work tonight it could be a long series against the Red Sox. If you lose tonight I think your toast against the Red Sox. Tonigt really could be the season for you guys. A loss is ok but a bad outing by Clippard could mean you'll lose at least 2 to the Red Sox. It's kind of ironic but I'm a huge Red Sox fan today and you guys are huge Braves fans so here's to the next series and hopefully by then you guys are back in it so these games take on even more intrest than this past weekend.

I know he is in a pretty bad slump, he's not a worthless pile of trash.

Bobby will come around eventually, watch and see.

    Correct.

I'm actually sacared for tonight. The Mets always seem to suck against rooks and Maine hasn't been top notch his past 2 starts. It should be a close game.

You shouldn't be scared, simply because the game doesn't really matter that much.

That's the benefit of rooting for a succesful team. If the Mets blow a game, i'm not concerned. I have complete confidence they'll rebound fine.

Is there any announcer worse than Joe Morgan? He always sounds like he only follows baseball once every several months or so, then doesn't form a new opinion until his next session months later. Like when Jose Reyes' OBP was above .450 earlier this season, he was still saying how Reyes was an exciting player, but his one major flaw was plate discipline.
