It's not really fair that Yankee fans have licenses to be assholes because of our too most dickish posters. It shouldn't work that way.
So go hold a rally at citifield for them to sell the team to someone who will. Not our fault. also,Pena,cervelli,Gardner,Berroa,.....all stars?
Who was an asshole in this thread? Are you joking? The only people who act like assholes in this forum come from your side. Cheering on our team is not being an asshole just because you guys were all sensitive last night
I posted a specific list of players who played in place of our high-price stars this year. As an example, when ARod was out for the first two months of the year, third base was manned by the following: Cody Ransom Angel Berroa Ramiro Pena I don't see money factoring into filling the position at all. Your worst posters have been nowhere near this thread. This entire thing started when MSU wanted to ride my ass for saying Burnett pitched a great game, which he did. I wasn't gloating, I was being a dick. I made a simple comment that he pitched well, and rather than take that in stride, Mets fans have been picking fights over things ever since. I'm generally not at all a dick to Mets fans. As a matter of fact, I've been told to shut up more times on this board because I tried to prevent the feuding. If Mets fans are going to be pissy about the games though, they're going to have to deal with getting some return fire. Hell, I'm not even a dick to the Boston fans on the board. I mess around with them, but generally we just banter back and forth without it turning into arguments. I don't give two shits about the Mets when we're not playing, but I want Boston to lose every game they play.
The Mets have the highest payroll in the league. They have no excuses. I don't care who the fuck is injured.
Disabled List J. Putz 15-day DL B. Wagner 60-day DL C. Delgado 60-day DL J. Reyes 15-day DL A. Pagan 15-day DL C. Beltran 15-day DL J. Maine 15-day DL O. Perez 15-day DL Shocker, Mets suck without 3/4 of their best players on the field. News at 11. When you're putting a team out there that has TWO players who started opening day and a reject #5 pitcher you should lose ever single night. The fact that the Mets aren't 10 games under right now is a fucking miracle. Yeay, the Yankees beat a AAA team. Whoo hoo. Enjoy sucking your own dicks about hitting Tim Redding and shutting down a bunch of guys who aren't even bench players on most MLB rosters.
Putz sucked when he played this year. Wagner? Why would you include Wagner here for your argument? Delgado, Reyes, and Beltran being out is definitely bad. Pagan? Who gives a shit about him? Maine being out hurts a bit. Perez? Thank goodness he is injured! I'm all for him being tarred and feathered. As for the Yankess beating a AAA team, well if Omar Minaya was a more competent GM and the Wilpons were better owners, the Mets would not be fielding a "AAA team". Four players of note are injured. Not 25. Major league teams have 25-man rosters. So how is the Mets current roster "AAA"?
Geez, the only thing that even said on the topic was that Burnett was pitching good. Nobody said anymore than that. But like I said, regardless of you lineup, the games were on the schedule and the Ws count.
Exactly. The Yankess or their fans should not have to feel bad about beating the team with the highest payroll in the NL no matter what the circumstances. Other Mess fans need to stop being whiny pansies.
Yeah. I could see their point if people were being ridiculous about it,but they really made a mountain out a molehill.
Especially since this is a thread for fans of both teams, and shit isn't necessarily being said to rile/irk Mets fans. Yankee fans are going to be happy about how Burnett pitched last night, regardless of the opponent. It might not have been a one-hitter against a healthy team, but it still would have likely been a very solid outing. His curve was unhittable last night, and the ump was giving both pitchers the calls on pitches two inches off the plate.
Maybe I am missing something, but how many All Star games have Ramiro Pena, Cody Ransom, and Brett Garder played in.
Statisticians everywhere have lost count because there have been so many appearances. Those are just three of the all-stars that that $200 million payroll has provided the NYY.
I can't believe I forgot Francisco Cervelli, hes gotta be up their with Pudge for All Star appearances.
