That has to be a depressing thought if you are a thinking Yankee fan. Arod has played 12 full years in the majors and has never been on a World Series champion. He can play another 10 years for the Yankees, and he still will not see a World Series championship. He is all about himself, and the World Series is not about him, thus he produces nothing. I am sorry, but you cannot argue with facts. Well, I guess you can, but it doesn't change the facts.

Johnny...speaking of retarded logic, you have to do much better than that.
Elway threw for over 20 tds and over 3500 yards in the "playoffs" before he won his first Super Bowl.

You are comparing ARod to Elway? while Elway never won one prior to '97 he carried mediocore teams to 3 SBs while ARod has hampered the Yankees chance of getting to a WS. den was awful for a few years before Elway and they have won just ONE playoff game since #7 retired.

Elway wasn't the reason we lost, vinny outplayed him. We lost b/c we couldn't hang on to the football, 6 TOs.

I'm thankfull thats as a New York Yankees fan that I'm going to beable to root for ARod to break the cheaters all time home run record. A-Rod is on pace to shatter the record "Set" by Steroids... Opps I mean Bonds, if he didn't resign with the Yankees... I dont know who I would root for.

As long as Alex stays healthy... He kills it. He already has over 500 and will be playing for another 8-10 seasons, if not longer.

it wasnt a good comparison, I admit. But assuming a team with A-rod cant win a championship is retarded......that was my point

Hey junc, did Arod mess with your sister when she was 12? You're non stop garbage is really out of control. You might as well change the team you root for right now. You can't handle another 10 years in your condition. Try the mets for awhile, that's more your style anyway.

I am sorry I don't get excited about a HR chase and i actually want to win. I ALWAYS root for ARod he just always disappoints. Once he stops disappointing in october I'll praise him but I'm still waiting to do that.

I read somewhere yesterday that Arod's new contract is front loaded and not back loaded. I found the pretty shocking as I figured the Yankees would at least want to make it appear he was being penalized for opting out. I can't remember if they said he would be making 32 or 36 million a year for the first 3. Then I started thinking about why the Yankees would want to do that and all I can come up with is that they would rather absorb it now when they know they will be sold out for the next two years at least or they are expecting to have an even higher payroll a few years down the road.

    That's forward thinking really.

First off, over the next half-decade, we're going to have a significant number of kids becoming eligible for FA. We're going to need to have the money available to bring them back.

Second, in the present day, we know there will be no salary cap. It's safe to play with the luxury tax, at least for the near-term. There's no way to know whether that will hold true 5 years down the road.

It just sounds like hedging the bets to me.
