Omar has lost his mind. His rant about Rubin was incoherent. I told you guys firing Willie instead of Omar was a mistake.
No Willie was terrible, however I've wanted Omar gone for over a year now, not choosing but both gone
For what it's worth, Jeff Wilpon's comments yesterday about Omar were remarkably harsh. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but could it be that even that idiot has realized just how much damage Minaya has done to the organization? http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/coo-jeff-wilpon-apologizes-for-minaya-and-mets-1.1333572
I don't really have time to read the article, but I watched a clip of him talking yesterday, and while he didn't condone Minaya's actions, he didn't seem like he was ready to close book on his GM reign either. He expressed being embarassed, but that Minaya was sorry and would like the opportunity to make things right. I'd be scared if I were a Mets fan. I'm not sure they intend to take this prime opportunity to dump him and move on, and that's a huge mistake.
I think he's gone at the end of the year. There's really not much of a point to firing a GM midseason, especially 2 days before the trading deadline.
