Hopefully after our first TC practice, we look at Steve Breaston - he wasn't half bad in Arizona ...

Still would love to have Braylon Edwards. I know it's a topic of discussion that's been beaten to death but still, he improves our offense with not only pass catching ability but also a great run blocking WR on the outside.

    WR: Holmes.
    WR: Edwards.
    WR: Kerley.
    WR: Hill.
    TE: Winslow Jr.
    TE: Cumberland.

Health and/or injury is a concern but combine those players with a crowded backfield in Ivory, Goodson and McKnight and that's an offense in which can provide football players for either of Sanchez/Geno.

It's all about putting our QB's in position to succeed and in my honest opinion opening the season with Edwards and Hill on the outside (until Holmes returns) along with Kerley (slot) and Winslow Jr. working the middle of the field and you have a formula for offensive success. Especially with our backfield.

  3. Breaston is an intriguing option. He's by no means a #1 but he's a pretty smooth route runner & can make some plays after the catch.Far better option than Braylon if you ask me

Per Jake Stienberg on twitter, the Jets are trying out Laurent Robinson.

    Boom.

  5. If he's healthy he is a legit productive #2 type. Which is exactly what the Jets need.

I like Robinson I wouldn't mind giving him a shot. I wonder if they're trying out Braylon as well?

The Jets will work out free agent WR Austin Collie on Monday.

Collie has dealt with multiple concussions and a ruptured patellar tendon since entering the league in 2009, but recently said that he's willing to sign a liability waiver for any NFL team. If signed, he would provide an immediate upgrade to the Jets' receiver depth. Santonio Holmes (foot) is coming off a Grade 4 Lisfranc injury and is expected to open training camp on the active/PUP list.

Concussion cases are a bargain with the devil. They may work out on the field but there's going to be a price to pay down the road.

I really think Ben Obamane(spelling) is the diamond in the ruff. Look at his numbers, when he played he produced with Seattle...

Maybe it's because I'm getting older and have two sons of my own, but hearing about players who have had multiple concussions still trying to play just fills me with dread. I can remember watching Chrebet lying on the field with that glazed look in his eyes and I can remember Coles on the sidelines with that trainer touching his face with a towel like he was afraid he'd break him. Apart from the fact that I can hardly bear to watch them, these guys need to move on with their lives while they still can.

Yes, and everybody needs to help them do that.

A concussion prone WR is going to have more concussions. There's no way to avoid that. They catch balls in traffic and their heads hit the ground now and then. That's scrambled brains in the making.

It's not fair to them at all but it is what it is.

The evidence at this point is that concussions make sufferers more prone to future concussions. Some of this may be about how the player plays the game and may be correctable but some of it is also about they just got unlucky and got their bell rung really hard once. Nothing to do about that. It happened. Now the job is to keep them from destroying their lives by taking more hits of the type that are likely to kill them earlier in life than they ought to go.

look, i'm not saying that concussion prone players should continue to play football, but it is their choice. it's not like anyone is forcing collie and robinson to try out for the jets. it's what they love to do and it's also their job

Ill never forget that moment when Coles went up to Wayne on the sideline ,with the towel over his head, and Wayne just lightly tapped his head. Im sure we all knew he was done and it was a sad sad moment.

These guys are pretty decent names being thrown out there and young too (Collie,27 and Robinson,28) I wouldnt mind either of them but they combine to have what? 6 concussions for their careers. Its just taking a big gamble.

Collie has had much more success but being with Peyton will do that for ya. Either way, they are "Welcomed" additions. I say it like that because injuries have haunted these poor guys.
