I know Rex isn't dumb enough to go for it on 4th and 2 on his own 30 yard line.....but then again...neither are kids with downs syndrome.
So, let me get this straight. The Indianapolis Colts, the winningest franchise in the last decade, is afraid of a 7-6 team? A team that came from 17 pts down in the fourth quarter against a veteran QB and perennial SB contender is afraid of backup QB led over-acheiver. A team that has won 22 regular season games in a row is suddenly intimidated by an also-ran. You better hope Peyton and Co. decide to rest next week or it'll be a long, cold January/February watching real teams play football.
You expect gloom and doom when the Jets just won three in a row? If fans can't be optimistic now when should they be? We have a team with the kind of running game and D that will keep us in it against anyone, even did vs the Saints in NO. Plus the Colts have wrapped up home field, so who knows? I don't get what your gripe is in calling us homers, what did you expect?
As much as I hate the Pats, and specifically Belicheat, he's been considered by many to be one of the greatest NFL coaches, yet he makes one call and now he's a dumbass that doesn't deserve a head coaching position? I believe he made the call to go for it on 4th and 2 because he didn't think his defense could stop Peyton with 2+ minutes to go.
I doubt they're intimidated or scared, but if you think it will be a walk in the park I think you're mistaken. Aside from a stretch early in the season the Colts haven't exactly been killing teams. They've played a lot of close games. The Jets have played every game pretty close, and held the #1 offense in the NFL to 10 points. The Jets D is pretty good.
Jets fans can be optimistic when they get a real quarterback instead of Mark "Dirty" Sanchez. You won't be a contender when you're throwing 2 or 3 picks a game. For your sake, I hope he has the mental capacity to be an NFL QB. So far he looks more like Cutler than Rodgers.
He's played like a rookie, some good and some bad. Again, what did you expect? He was going to come in and play like Favre did last year before getting hurt? You're just throwing shit out there, it sounds like.
So far he looks like every other rookie QB- He's played 12 pro games, my god. Peyton sucked, Favre sucked, Elway sucked, and the list goes on, we've already been down this road though-
No NFL game is a walk in the park, just ask the Steelers. If the Donks and their defense can't hold the Colts to less than 28 I really don't see how the Jets can. You know Clemens can't lead the Jets to 4 TD's against the Colts defense. That being said... The Colts will win the first half. At that point, if Peyton and Co. sit, I could see the Jets winning this game.
I'd take Stafford over Sanchez. Kid looks good without much talent around him. Showed some toughness against the Browns a few weeks ago.
So the Jets D can hold the Saints to 10 points, but the Colts will surely put up at least 28? The Saints have put up about 100 points more than the Colts this season. I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the Jets D held them in check.
There is something called matchups that impact football games. The Dolphins D is better against the run the Jets are better against the pass. The Jets have a veteran shut down cornerback the Dolphins don't. The Colts threw the ball deep all over the Dolphins and scored their points in a hurry. The Jets weakness is the short underneath stuff. Much less likely to see the Colts score quickly against the Jets like they did against the Dolphins. It doesn't mean they won't control more of the clock than they did against the Dolphins but long drives create risk that short drives don't create.
I believe that Manning with start and play but not finish. Along with Wayne and Addai. I think Matthias and Freeny will most certainly not start. This is the Jets game im talking about.
I'd take Ryan over Henne- I'm glad you think Staffard is tough, your opinion is taken with great value. You have yet to see what either of them are going to really be, Mark can create more plays with his mobility. Once he gets more comfortable in there and with the speed of the game he'll be lighten it up.
What? You can voice your opinion but I can't without getting sarcasm back? Keep telling yourself what Dirty MIGHT be able to do, while you watch other young QB's show you what they ARE capable of.
How can you compare him to Cutler? They have absolutely NO similarities. Sanchez is a rookie playing on the BIGGEST stage in the NFL. He hasn't been an ace, but he certainly hasn't been a piece of shit neither. He's made plays, he's competitive as hell, and you can tell he's a leader. Our backup with 3 years in the system, WITH THE SAME PLAYERS sucked ass (against the Bucs no less). So it's not all about your surroundings. Stafford has played like a rookie as well. Time will tell, but they are also 2 different types of QBs. Like Sanchez, Stafford has struggled staring down his 1st target, thrown bad passes, and held on the ball too long. Far too early to declare him the next coming. Obviously your not a Jets fan. Which is fine by me, but don't come here firing from the hip without any ammunition. You also compared the Jets/Dolphins pass defense. Are you kidding me?
