I would not hate it if the FO did it. The extra pick would only help. But I want to see them draft Brick, and would hate it if they passed him up. Either way would be fine.
The only way we should trae down is if we are fleecing another team. They'd have to give up alot more than that..
I voted yes .. I believe we have more needs to address than just a 4th pick can give us. I think if we can get 3 picks in the first round and address our many holes with them .. I"M ALL FOR IT .... We have multiple needs to address and i'm thinking there will be a lot of gems left after the first 10 are gone.
Bingo. Mario, Bush, or Leinart is there we take the remaining one, if they're all gone then I have no proble, trading down. Denver would have to throw in an extra pick of course, 4th rounder likely like the Jets did a few years back. As for the question of would they trade up, I think that they honestly would make that move if they wanted one of the Quaterbacks, and to me, that is Vince Young. Of all the fits in the NFL that Young could have, this is the best one. At 15 we can grab a quality lineman (Justice should still be there if we want him for RT) or DeAngelo, and 22 we could be looking at Laurence Maroney or a rush LB. Then at #29 we take Mangold. #35 gives us a pretty good opportunity to grab the best player on the board. Just throwing out a random idea though, lot of options on the board, that's for sure.
I think the # 4 pick is worth more than # 15 and # 22. I think we should trade down 2 - 6 slots and use that pick to obtain # 15 and # 22.
Without a doubt. At 15 and 22 we can get both an OLB along with a quailty OT. Say Marcus McNeil at 15 and DeMaco Ryans at 22? Perfect fit. At 29 you can go and look at ILB with Bobby Carpenter? Hobson is out of the starting lineup at that point but he may not belong in the 3-4. If not an ILB at 29 then go with Nick Mangold. OT McNeil OLB Ryans C Mangold That's one hell of a 1st round. Then at 35 you have flexibility as to where you want to pick. Nose Tackle perhaps with either Gabe Watson or Rodrique Wright? CB with Kelly Jennings, Tye Hill, Ashton Youboty or Antonio Cromartie. Perhaps even QB with a guy like Brodie Croyle? All are possible options.
Yes we can fill alot of needs with 4 top 35 picks that would be sick. What is the most top picks any team has had (sorry I am being lazy and didnt feel like looking it up?)
We could rebuild our OLine and get a playmaker on Defense. Hell, we could even get Croyle. 4 picks in the first 36 sounds perfect to me.
the only reason I think Denver would consider this is because they are very close to being legit Superbowl contenders. It's kinda similar to when a team needs that one piece to make a Superbowl push; they sign the big free agent who commands a lot of money, or the free agent who's got the questionable attitude (i.e. Owens). Therefore, maybe Denver sees that final piece at #4. I'm not sure exactly what their most pressing need is or who that final piece for them is. Do they see someone at #4 that they think will get them over the hump? I don't know. But if they do, then they just might pull the trigger on this trade. cheers (P.S. is this just a rumor we started based on a hypothetical question; or have their been whispers that they're interested?)
a resounding yes...... but the value is not exactly right so a swap of later round picks could help.... for a re-building team having multiple first rounders is one of the few keys to getting a head start - go ask jimmie johnson and the cowboys about orchestrating a turnaround with multiple picks. one of the concerns besides getting the right players is the rookie contracts - of course you try and avoid a scenario that has multiple hi profile contracts expiring at once - they have to be staggered, not only against the other first rounders but also against the hi profile contracts of your star veterans - in this case ellis, vilma etc. IMO - its all in the QB - if the jets want leinart or cutler - than go get him - now but if they would rather improve multiple positions now and address the QB next year or even the year after.... rome wasn't built in one day and there is an argument for re-building the 23 other positions BEFORE you plug in your QB. at this point - i only take leinart if he "falls" to 4 and cutler if he "falls" to a spot i have already traded down to. otherwise i go position players that can start from day one - and QB is not that spot right now. jil
the only guy i can see denver tageting at 4 would we williams - but the saints probably get him. other than that - ? vernon davis??? that would make plummer more dangerous but 4 is very high for a TE unless he will be used as a legit WR as well. jil
I've been for using our #4 on a QB, but this would be too tempting and I'd have to do it. That would give us 5 picks in the first 35. That would be a hell of a lot of qaulity! I just don't see Denver doing that though.
Davis would definitely be used more as a legit WR than your typical TE, who blocks and occasionally catches passes. this is why i want us to get Davis because we need more Offensive firepower, as well as help along the OL. so, maybe Davis is the guy that Denver feels will put their Offense over the top. It's a bit of a reach; but Davis is projected to go somewhere in the top 10 -- maybe 7. Is #7 to #4 that much of a reach? I say no if you think that Davis can catapult your Offense into the NFL's elite. cheers
