It was a problem from the time he came out until he was released by the Rams. Haven't heard anything about him since he signed with the Cowboys. Just like Tebow we can't keep coming up with excuses. If he's good enough he'll get a third chance.
I think the guy is being screwed. On a practice squad you don't really get a chance to show what you can do because there's limited contact. Even the Cowboys coaches admitted that and said he was a good kid and worked hard. The only time he got s chance to play was in exhibition games and he played well. His detractors would say against 3rd rate competition but do they know the personnel on the field on every play during those games. Were there any NFL caliber players on the field or all scrubs. He was a good player in college and this lack of speed stuff might be an excuse. But on the other hand another very good college player Shane Skov who has been labeled as too small and too slow is also out of the league without getting on the field. He was also undrafted and recently cut by the 49ers and Bucs practice squads.
I don't have an issue with Sam the guy, or Sam the player. My issue is, we have more than enough mediocre players on this team. If Sam put up JJ Watt type numbers, I'd want him on the team. He hasn't impressed 2 teams with his play and 30 other teams are not willing to give him a tryout. Who's spot on the Jets or PS, is he going to take?
