You don't need to argue that, I just think at this point our PS positions are valuable, and situational rusher isn't really a need for us in terms of developmental players.

We can all agree that Sam isn't a great prospect even though he had a very good college career. You can say the same for James Harrison. To me the reason Sam isn't playing is not his talent level. At his position and with the credentials he does have he would get chances if he were straight. But they consider him to be a distraction. Plus they hate him because he is gay.

Darn right...I would bring him in & see what he has. He has to be as good as somebody on there roster....even practice squad.

no, at this point he's just a distraction and not our need at all. if he was a cb tat would be a different story (still probably would lean not taking him though)

What is your definition of distraction. A guy just trying to get a job. From what we hear he was a good soldier and didn't create any problems.

we just picked up harvin and made splashes in the nfl. i totally hope the guy finds somewhere to have a chance and play but just not the jets. the media will eat this team alive and ask questions nonstop about him as we seen in the couple years. lets face it, we're the circus of the nfl and its distracting the players. look at this harvin deal, we totally won it but because we're the jets everyone is making it look like shit.

You're also talking about SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He wouldn't have been a 7th round pick if he wasn't gay

Based on your logic, we should bring back Tebow, he was one of the most accomplished and award winning players in college football.

Just because guys win awards in college football does not mean they are good enough to play in the NFL.

I think Tebow is getting screwed, too. The guy can't even get a tryout when there's a need for Qbs. This "distraction" stuff is a lot a crap. There are so many distractions it ain't funny. Choose a player or exec and you'll find a distraction. What about being a nationally prominent NFL head coach and having your wife make a foot fetish video. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me.

It doesn't matter where you are drafted in case you forgot we just dumped a 4th round pick, you prove your worth in camp. He had his chance after the draft with 2 different teams so that's bull shit.

You could be right but you assume there's a fair playing field. But if you saw the guy play in pre-season he was pretty good. He had 2 sacks and played well. Good enough to be on a practice squad don't you think when they are signing guys off the street.

Tebow is a very different case and I think you know that. I'm not saying Sam should have been a first rounder, but he definitely wasn't a seventh rounder.

I think the media has been a problem for him. Not saying he outperformed others, but his sexual orientation is a distraction and that's why he's not on a team. And it's not like some players don't float around before finding their niche.

Personally, I don't want him, but it has nothing to do with football. We just have enough distractions already.

He was also going against other guys that are also not playing in the NFL right now. I was all for giving him a shot during camp but no sense in doing it now.
