Would anyone else be upset if we picked Ryan?

You have to be kidding me. The colts have Peyton, the Pats have Brady, and the Steelers have big Ben. Oh yeah, the Chargers have LT. Which one of these teams have NOT won a SB in the last 10 years?

We certainly DO NOT need McFadden. The Jets "needing" Darren McFadden is a rediculous statement.

To reduce these teams to one guy is ridiculous...

You're really trying to argue that LT isn't as valuable as any of those guys?

He kind of is, but the point i see being made (i'm guessing here) is it comes down to who runs the two minute drill at the end of the game. That's where the true value lies.

After careful evaluation of this siuation I believe if we pick Ryan we are basically throwing away another top round pick which would be Clemmens. On the back of D'Rob now officially considered a first round bust by the Jets, to pick Ryan would rub salt in to the wound. Clemens and Chad have got to be given a chance behind our new line. I just can't see Mangini going QB in the first round.

I don't care how many picks we piss away if it leads to a championship winning team on the field.

A lot of mocks now have both McFadden and Ryan still there when we pick. Normally I would hope that we traded down two spots with Baltimore so they could take Ryan and we still get McFadden at #8. The problem with that is NE will then probably trade down with Dallas who would then take McFadden or they would take McFadden themselves. As it is with Ryan on the board at 7 NE probably gets to make a deal anyway.

You haven't taken into consideration Jets Karma. Faced with Gholston and Ryan we don't trade down with Baltimore because we don't want Gholston to end up on the Pats we take him and instead of the Pats swaping picks with Baltimore they take Ryan. Week 2 Gholston puts a tremendous season ending hit on Brady and Ryan steps in and leads them to 3 of the next 4 SB.

That would be the one that is better than any player to wear a Jets Uniform in the History of our team. If we can't get a Sb then at least let us get a Superstar sometime in our life times!

Two minute drill is a concentrated effort by the whole offense...not just the QB.

The obsession with the QB position has led to dumb draft choices by franchises ignoring much more important issues...Akili Smith...David Carr...Joey Harrington...all put in terrible situations with retarded, franchise saving expectations...

To make other guys seems like the QBs little pawns is just wrong. It shows a real lack of understanding of what a football TEAM is.

I have no idea where this concept of "he throws the ball, so everythings on him" came from, but it's dumb. Yes, a pitcher is huge. Yes, a QB is huge. Yes, a goalie is huge. Still, those guys are nothing but players at high profile positions without the guys around them.

Ryan scares the heck out of me! Another CP. I would take my chances later in the draft with a QB but he's got to have a cannon and size. I hope Ryan is off the board when we pick or some team make us an offers we can't refuse like swapping picks plus a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th.

Though I'm not a fan of Ryans'....he is a very good player. He did carry his team, because B.C. had no speedy or real playmakers. They had no running game; he was the whole offense. He is mobile, can throw on the run, he has a great desire to win & leads his team til the end. He has adequate zip on his passes & he has good height for his position. He probally is better than any QB that the Jets' have. He is also smart. So, after I get over my personal non-attraction for him...I must recognize his traits & abilities. He will lead his team with a zest that all the fans will love. The guy is a winner. He's not the Jets' greatest need, but he is a player that could lead the Jets' for the next 10 years easy & the Jets' will remain contenders with him leading them. I can see the Jets' making a SB run with him at the helm & a improved defense. Thsi guy accomplished alot & all w/o a running game. Now that's impressive.

I would much rather have Long, McFadden or Gholston; but if all are off the board by 6 and if it means getting rid of Pennington I wouldn't be too upset.

I don't understand this post. You write all this good stuff about him how he's a leader and can throw on the run and has good height and has adequate zip and this and that. Then you write you don't really like him.
