How 'bout we do the rationale thing ad see what this draft looks lie 2-3 years down the road before we decide it rates an F?

i have never heard so much whining and bitching. anyone the jets drafted today you would have found a reason to bitch about something. the jets draft today is lookin like it could potentially be our best since that one year when we had 4 first round picks.

Like this came as a surprise.......Ferguson was projected as their pick for over a week now. It's a good signing. There's holes on the line....maybe we should have picked Matt Leinart, instead of having the same insight the other 8 teams had by passing on him. Traded up for Reggie Bush. Can he reproduce in the NFL? Time will tell. So basically they should just take guys YOU think are great and forget about the needs of the team.

We traded up because Vikings were going to take Clemens at #51.

So net-net, we got the guy we targeted in the second round and wound up trading #189 and #211 this year for a SECOND ROUND NEXT YEAR.

Sounds like a FANTASTIC DRAFT so far.

What good is QB or RB if they are always on their back behind the line of scrimage with three guys on top of them?

Initially, I didn't like the first pick either. But, there is a method to Tangini's madness, and I now see the bigger picture. This will be one of the defining drafts of the organization in 3-4 years. I only wish Deangelo would have fell to us at 29. Other than that, this is an amazing draft. They are building a nucleus!

    Are you kidding?

Excecp for trading down at #35......I think the front office is doing a great job.

I also like the pick of the QB from Oregan....He was having a great year before getting hurt.....

Oline is set for the next few years......

It's refreshing to see somebody with half a clue posting. I wasn't thrilled about Brick because I thought it meant we wouldn't take Mangold but throw in Mangold, Brick and now Clemmons and I couldn't have dreamed a better 3 picks. Plus adding the 2nd next year for a 7th rounder. That is highway robbery. Tangini are going to turn the Jets into winners..... Wow we have done the best job so far.

what difference does it make if you have playmakers when your qb is splattered all over the stadium?

It's obvious now that the Jets wanted Clemmens all along....

So, by trading back they get the guy they wanted AND turn this years 6th and 7th rders into a 2nd next year.

    Great job!

Please get serious. This was a fabolous draft. Getting Leinert at 4 would have been a wasted pick. We landed the best two instant starter in their positions. Matt would not have started, and if he did, he would have been not even as good as Chad. And the notion that we can always get help at Ol in later rounds, well so it is for RB, WR etc. Plus we landed a better QB any how.

Actually I wass just thinking what a great draft it has been so far. Just because they didn't do what YOU wanted them to do doesn't make it a bad draft.

Hope you are all correct about this being a good draft - Clemens was the 1st good pick.

I have never beens so happy with the jets drafting. They are drafting smart. Everybody knows that the key to winning games starts with the line on both sides of the field. This season the qbs for the jets will be protected pretty well. yeah we probably could have traded to get bush but where would that have left us no where with a good RB in bush he would be in the same postion Barry Sanders was in in detroit. This is managment team is all about building for the future and that is what they are doing wake up and smell the coffee. This team is going to be bad for a year or two hopefully just for this year. Gives all our picks the chance to bet better and then pick up the other needs in next years draft or in free angency.

I do have to say though the drafting was good but boring. how sweet would it have been to draft bush.

but that just my 2 cents

We got the #1 OT in the draft.
We got the #1 Center in the draft.

    And still you complain?

You must be a real charmer to be around when Christmas gifts are exchanged.
