New York Jets owner: Mangini will be evaluated this week by Dave Hutchinson/The Star-Ledger Sunday December 28, 2008, 8:39 PM Tim Farrell/The Star-Ledger Was the loss to the Dolphins Eric Mangini's final hurrah as Jets coach? In the wake of his team's regular season-ending 24-17 loss to the Dolphins and the completion of a month-long collapse that left the Jets on the outside of the playoff picture, Jets owner Woody Johnson said Sunday night that coach Eric Mangini's status would be evaluated this week. Mangini still has a season left on the contract he signed when hired in early 2006, but Johnson said he is "extremely disappointed" and "frustrated" by the end of the Jets' season -- they lost four of their final five games and fell quickly from the AFC East lead -- and will determine whether or not Mangini will be brought back in 2009. Johnson said nothing would be decided in the "heat of the moment" following the loss, and that he expected to take the week to determine the best course of action for the Jets. Johnson also deflected a question about whether the Jets would be interested in hiring former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, who is expected to be the No. 1 coaching candidate this offseason. When you pay all that money on talented players to effectively sell PSL seats at your ridiculously overpriced new "Giant's" Stadium (which it will always be referred as) you expect results. He didn't deliver and must be held accountable. Give me a coach who's angry, yelling, spitting and frothing at the mouth... one who has emotion. Or give me one who has balls. Mangini has neither.
God aint that the truth. Im tired of seeing manboobs stupid face after every int, fumble, loss. Always the same stupid clueless expression. god it makes me miss herm.
