Chads prime was 10 games 6 years ago. Get over it Chad could never have gotten lucky because had he been in the same situation the ball never gets there.

Please. To that point Chad's career was MUCH better than Eli's. Eli stepped up for the first time in his career the past month but that wasn't the question in this thread. Eli had never shown that ability before and it does't take guys 4 years to get the mental part down so don't act like you got something over on me b/c you never do. It's funny how heading into the last reg season game I didn't see you bump this thread, why not?

Chad didn't even get off the bench until year 3. In 4 years Eli has over 11,000 yards 77 TD and is 4 and 2 in the playoffs. Chad in his first 4 years had 5400 yards, 37 TD and was 1 and 1 in the playoffs. Eli didn't have the luxury of sitting on the bench or playing behind a solid OL his first two years.

We compare when they were actually playing. PRIOR to this great run Eli had ZERO playoff wins and nothing but mediocre #s while Chad led the Jets to a div title(the ONLY div title the Pats haven't won since 2001) and won 2 playoff games in the MUCH tougher AFC. PRIOR to this run Chad was clearly the better QB, this run came out of nowhere. Eli had shown some flashes in the past but to take 4 full seasons before you put together a tsretch of good football like that is a LONG time to wait and it was fair to assume he'd never be as good as he was this past month. He also got the help that Chad has never had w/ teammates stepping up in big games not shrinking. The Jets D NEVER came close to playing like the giants D has and if they had Chad would have a ring by now.

Didn't you argue and actually laugh at me when during Jets Giants week I suggested that the Giants were a much more talented team than the Jets? If that's the case how come Chad went 1 and 9 this year and Eli went 10 & 6 in probably the toughest division in football that had a combined record of 11 & 5 against the AFC East this year and won the SB against what was the best AFC team of the decade?

The giants didn't have alot more talent, they had better line play on both sides. That was the difference. No matter what RB they put back there they had success and that was thanks to the guys up front, we didn't have that. As far as overall talent, the gap isn't far while you said we weren't int he same class. Remember a year ago the giants were 8-8 and we were 10-6. Things change quickly in this league and they changed during the season for the giants who went from being a terrible team to start the year to a Championship team.

The Giants had more talent than us the last 3 years and have been building to this since they drafted Eli. We have been going backwards since Chad got hurt in 04. They are far more talented than us on both lines at RB, TE, WR and they have good depth on both sides of the line and they have a QB who can make back breaking, game changing plays against any caliber D at any time.

We don't have a real stud right now on either of our lines. Mangold is very good, not yet close to great. We have a very talented young LB, Safety and CB. We have solid, not great WR, a weak TE position. A veteran QB with no arm and a 3rd year QB who doesn't yet seem to have the confidence of either the GM or the HC. Than you go to the staff and the seperation is off the charts from the GM right down to the OC and DC. We are not in the same class as the NY giants on or off the field right now.

I disagree, I think they are obviously better up front but very few other places. The next question is will this Eli be the regular Eli or was it just a good month? if this is permanent Eli then I think the gap is significantly widened but he needs to prove it wasn't just a good month.

We have similar talent to the giants, once again remember this was an 8-8 team in '06 and we were 10-6. They also started 0-2 looking brutal in the process, things change very quickly.

If you mean by similar we both have human beings at the same positions I agree. If you mean similar in terms of football skills, I think you are out of your mind.

We had them beaten until we made a couple of dumb plays in the second half, same for a lot of our games. I think the whole league is fairly balanced with a few exceptions.

I think you may have that backwards we had a lead on them because they played incredibly stupid in the first half. The held us to under 300 yards total O they had almost 100 yards more about 25% more total yards a huge number. They had 4 offensive TD we had 1. We kept it close with a fumble and a kickoff return TD. When they stopped making dumb plays they blew us out 14 zip in the 4th quarter to win by double digits. If the Giants don't hand us 14 points in the first half they probably beat us by 21 or more. When their confrence is 11 and 5 against yours it's because it's flat out better.

I think the fact that the Giants are so much better at key positions it makes them seem more talented than us than they actually are. Right now the Giants are much more talented at the QB position & on both lines, the rest of the talent is fairly close.

This Eli love is disturbing...just a couple months before he was like the worst QB who couldn't do this that and this...now alluva sudden HE (and only he) won the Super Bowl...HE led the Giants to the Super Bowl...
