It's year 4 for Eli, and year whatever for Chad. Both QB's pretty much are what they are now. Might still have some ups and downs, but it's really unlikely that either gets that much better. I'd go with Chad, I'm not an Eli fan. Every once in awhile he shows potential and that he finally gets it, but then he goes back to being an average at best QB for awhile. If he ever puts it all together my opinion will change, but the later we get in his career the less likely that is.
If I'm not mistaken, Chad became a starter in 2002 and Eli in 2003. Granted Chad had time to learn and watch, which is a huge help (Clemens guys), but when you consider how much time he's missed, Eli might actually have more experience despite being younger. I could be way off here though.
Sorry. There has just been a rash of terrible polls lately. This is actually an ok one based on the results, but it shouldn't be close. Thanks for the welcome. I finally decided to join now that I have time to post frequently. I decided to take time off and not take on new projects to spend time with my 4 month old. Instead, I might be spending more time here while she's asleep. Such is life.
In terms of how many games they actually started, they arent far off; lets not forget that Pennington is injured half the time
If this were on ANY other team's message board, I don't think Pennington would have 1/2 of the votes Eli got.... The fact that it's almost even, on a Jets message board, with a lot of very anti-Giants Jets fans, is pretty telling
As far as ability goes, I think Eli has more. But I get the impression that Chad has more leadership qualities. I don't know, I just can never take Eli seriously. Everytime I see him play with his little head in his oversized helmet, I feel like I am watching my 8 year old nephew play.
Yeah, I stand by my original statement -- Eli Manning is The Lord of the Dufuses, and The Emperor of His Own Anus.
I don't know. Most non-Jet fans I know think Pennington is a good QB and marvel that he came back from two surgeries, got us to the playoffs and won Comeback Player of the Year. The only people I hear tearing him to shreds and overanalysing every pass are Jet fans with an ax to grind, specifically here on this board.
If this is the case then - why let his bad ankle ruin the chance for victory and risk further injury? Does the coaching staff feel a hobbled Pennington is better than a healthy Clemens? Is that a good thing for a Jets fan to accept?
I don't think the ankle is affecting him at all. He's moved around fine when he has too, and I don't think he looks much different throwing the ball. Might still hurt but he doesn't look like a different player, like he did when he came back in to the Pats game.
I don't know about this one. QB without a head vs QB without an arm? Wait a minute. Isn't a QB supposed to have both?
