We need to stop being gun shy and take that risk. I for one will be a little nervous about the Jets trading up and getting Leinart but ya gotta do it if its there

if Leinart is there at #3 for Titans, will they pull the trigger considering the Norm Chow-USC-Leinart connection?

that is the only thing i would be afraid of. otherwise, we could sit tight and just let the Saints take D'Brickshaw. I'd be happy with D'Brick. Whoever starts at QB for the Jets this year will take a beating.

That's my only concern with Leinart. i know he's like 6'3" or whatever but the guy never had to take a hit at USC. I think the first time he ever took a decent shot, he had to leave the game for a while. and the NFL is 10x rougher than college.

That's exactly right about Leinart. The one big shot on him was I believe against Arizona St. when he got the cheap shot. He went out for a while (which only showed that Booty could do just as well in that offense as Leinart did). Whoever said that he's proven he can take a hit is blatantly wrong. With that O-line, he never really had to take many hits. And Chad didn't have the injury concerns that we see today with him. With Leinart, we can see the concerns before he even gets drafted! A great athlete on an incredible team that makes him look incredible.

Here's why you don't draft Leinart. He can manage a game better than most if he's on a very good team. But he does NOT have the talent to take a struggling team to the next level. Brains can only get you so far. Contrary to popular belief on this board, you do have to have an above average arm to succeed in the NFL. Leinart doesn't have it. Put him on a very good team and he's a success. Put him on a team like the Jets and he fails miserably.

Go ahead, Tannenbaum, and prove me wrong. Trade away picks to resemble the 2003 draft with Robertson. I'd like to not have to root for the Giants next year, but the more talk I hear about it, the more I'm thinking we might make a stupid trade. Oh well, it's been nice knowing y'all haha.

I'd honestly like to hear some draft QBs that don't fit that mold. Eli Manning, Giants were terrible, he was terrible. Once the Giants get some weapons and get good line play, he looks very good. This is why it's called rebuilding, you draft a QB and put talent around him. Unless the Jets plan on coasting at this level Leinart's entire career here, never upgrading with young talent; I'd say that adding him would be a hell of a piece to the puzzle.

please did you see the ND game this year? we abused him all game we were hitting him. and he still beat us. anyway at this point im hoping we land leinart if you have to jump up do it.We need this guy he would really start off the new era. he will give us the same hype eli gave to the giants which attracted Fa's.

He went through a tough game at ND, and definately showed off his toughness on a couple of instants.

    Quarterbacks

Tallest: Matt Leinart, USC, 6-foot-4 7/8; Paul Pinegar, Fresno St., 6-foot-4 7/8

    damn near 6'5

My scenario would be to trade our 1st rounder for both of Denvers 1st rounders..if they'd go for it
Then trade Abe to the Falcons for Schaub and their 2nd
How sweet would that be...4 picks in the first 2 rounds in a deep draft?

    Just speculating

I don't know about Young. He could be TO behind center.
