I think the Jets should draft pass rushers in every round of the draft. That way at least one is bound to be a beast.

There is nothing short about that OP

Blair Walsh has been pretty bad since last year.

Randle is most likely going to return to school, I dont know if I would call him raw, inconsistent would be better.

As far as Polk goes, if you want to draft a running back early we are better off dropping in the first round and taking David Wilson instead

We have drafted RBs three years in a row.

Let's find out what Greene, McKnight, and Powell can do before we blow a second rounder on another one.

We need to fix the OL to give our existing RBs a chance to succeed.

Agree but havent we already seen what greene can do and we have had peeks at mcknight - but i am not sure how durable either 1 of these guys are - especially mcknight.

powell should have been on the field more - not sure why he wasnt.

    i wouldn'e be opposed to a later round/FA RB.

I really like the idea of trading down to get extra picks. A lot of mocks have both Mercilus and Burfict going late in round 1, so trading down from 16 would still give us a great player.

I am pretty new to this, but what do you guys think of this scenario:

Trading down from 16 to around 25 (worth an early 3rd), pick mercilus, and then trading back into the 1st round, (worth an early 3rd) ahead of the Patriots and Ravens and get Burfict.

This would boost our LB corp and we would more or less be set for a decade.

I would be all for it in theory... So from what I am understanding, we trade back around 9 spots and pick up and early 3rd? And then we use our 2nd and that 3rd to trade back up around 25-28 again and pick Burfict?

I wouldnt be that ecstatic if we had to give up our 3rd too because we need that to draft OL (Matt Reynolds would be nice).

From this trade value chart- http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php we could trade back in the first and pick up a later 2nd (might have to give up a player or the 4th round pick) and then we could trade up with both 2nds and get Burfict.

This sounds pretty awesome in theory- Our draft could look like
    1st- Mercilus
    1st Burfict
    3rd- Reynolds
    4th- Cunningham

This sounds awesome, but I cant remember the last time Tanny has traded back (if ever)...

So with the possible comp. pick, we might end up with quite a few picks.
What are the possible steals in round 5-7? Underrated, minor injuries, off field etc.

We aren't getting anything for Mason, he needed 33 or more catches for the Jets to get a 7th round pick. I'd guess the Schlauderaff is a 6th rounder.

Jets might draft Courtney Upshaw OLB. Hes playing for Alabama tonight.

And yea I agree, we need pass rushers. IDC how good our safety mite be, no pressure, will lead to any secondary getting raped.

With the way Rex uses our safeties a good safety could be our best pass rusher

He did send Eric Safety on a blitz sometimes which was pointless because he rarely got past the tackle.

While i agree that trading down would be a good move, I would not go down as far as you mentioned. I would trade down to like pick #25 or so and grab an extra 2nd round pick. Maybe a trade with the giants for pick #26 (as of right now).

Then our first 4 rounds could look something like this:
    rd 1, 26: Kendall Wright- WR- Baylor- 5'10- 190- 4.39 40 yd dash
    rd 2, 15: Mohamed Sanu- WR- Rutgers- 6'2- 215- 4.50 40 yd dash
    rd 2, 26: LaMichael James- RB- Oregon- 5'9- 189- 4.38 40 yd dash
    rd 3, 14: Jeff Allen- RT- Illonis- 6'5- 315

This would make me very happy. Many might question this because it does not address the problems on defense, like a cover safety, pass rushing OLB, or ILB if we cut scott. I do have faith that rex can work with what he has in place (not to mention maybe a free agent, maybe some small pieces to add to that side of the ball).

This draft gives us 3 explosive playmakers to stick on the offense. I think Sanu and Wright compliment eachother very well, and I' am under the assumption both plax and holmes will be gone (that is a totally different topic). Both Wright and Sanu have very good hands and can get major yards after catch. Lamichael is as dynamic as they come. He has unbelieveable explosion and from what i saw has very underrated vision. I think he compliments Greene very well. He excels catching passes, and would be a matchup nightmare out of the backfield. Allen can be a steal in rd 3. I think he can start week 1 over the options we have now (Hunter cough cough). He played very well this year against the run and pass.

On offense we would have Greene, James, McKnight, Wright, Sanu, Kerley, Keller. That is a nice, explosive, young group of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. It is risky but I would love every second of it.

We need some defensive players, I would much rather have a top ranked defense, and try and be like the 49ers, I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a defensive player with every pick and addressing offense in free agency. I think the 49ers should be our model
