lol cedric houstons number 34.. and yes it feels very good to be on the opposite side of that kind of situation.
I agree, this has been our BESTwin in quite some time, and it feels great. It has been a long time. Seeing Brady on his back that many times was awsome to see. At this point in the season there are no gimme games and should wins (IMO). 9 or 10 underdogs won this past week. Miami is playing much better and are always a tough division game. Green Bay is playing much better. Houston beat the Jags and are playing better. That being said, if we are turning the corner and starting to gel on both O and D and start playing consistant the playoffs are not far fetched. We are only one game behind the Pats, is the divsion out of the question? This is the time of season when we see what teams really are and maybe the Pats are not as good as everyone thinks. I am looking foward to the rest of the season and very optimistic. Win or loose the Jets have been fun and exciting to watch, with the exception of the blowout and the poor showing against the browns. Anyway great win, playoffs or not i think the future is bright.:jets:
That's all? That's what makes it so great. We have not had one in a long time. When was the last time we dominated a game, let alone against the PATS.
What happens when the Blitz stops working??? I love how we brought the house on most passing downs but you all know that old saying: "Live by the Blitz, die by the Blitz"... We're gonna still have to generate more QBP without blitzing. Our 3 guys up front or our 4 guys will still have to get after it IF we're really gonna make a real playoff run this season. I love being on this side of the fence BTW, however even beating Belichick in his house doesn't erase our most obvious weakness. Our blitz is great, but it can't be our entire defensive scheme. We still need more production upfront from our maneaters..
'04 at SD twice '02 at Buf, at SD(they were 6-1 at the time and we were huge underdogs), at NE '01 at NO(they were playing well and big favorites, we also beat NE at NE but I can't count that as Brady wasn't starting yet), at Miami, at oakland '00 at TB, at Miami '99 at Dal, at Miami '98 at NE, at Miami, at Buffalo
beatin ne doesnt suprise me at all after seeing how well we did the first time we played them earlier this year
Not giving you the first game - we were favourites there, San Diego was coming off a dreadful season, Brees was a bust and we were coming off a good win. Of course, given how they went on to play later in the season, it looks a quality win - at the time though, we were not big underdogs.
I can't really give you 2001 and 2002 games (and I wasn't even a teenager yet for the other games). We were considered a preseason pick to go to the playoffs or at least be a good team by all media publications. This year, we had virtually no expectations, and we beat a tougher team than any of those teams in the past. The San Diego game in '02 is the only one I can really give you from those 2 years of the Herm era. The other games, we were probably 2-5 point underdogs, so that's not really fair to call them big upsets and games we were not supposed to win.
We were not supposed to be a playoff team in '01, we were coming off a collapse in '00 and had a rookie HC.
