As their defense is not a strong one (fast one, yes. Strong one? no), the most viable tactic would involve mauling them at the gut. If the game stays close, then with the middle of the defense mauled and banged up, things are bound to break open in the 2nd half. If Jets can keep banging at them, they may crack midway through 3rd quarter.
If they do stack the box, can only hope Braylon has his mind on that contract coming up. Man better have a career day is all im sayin
They will have to stack the box occasionally, because that D-line may be fast and athletic, but they are undersized, and our O-line and TRich and constant runs is going to wear them down after 3 quarters, I think. I love the idea of unbalanced lines, I think we have the right personnel with Turner and Hunter coming into the game for heavy sets.
Honestly, the Dolphins gave us the game plan for this game. We just have to play better defense. How sweet would that be if we took there game plan to play the superbowl on there home field. bahaha
That would be sweet. And then Rex could come out in his pre-Super Bowl presser and be like 'Yeah, we beat the Colts, and we did by using a PUSSY OFFENSE! Suck it, Miami!'
The Colts frequently sit back in the Cover 2 because they're playing with a lead more often than not. This is evident in their near-4.5-YPC against average this season. If they choose to only rush four, the Jets will control the game with their backs. I have to believe that they'd rather disrupt Sanchez and try and get more hands on the ball to force bad decisions and/or fumbles.
When you stuff the box, you leave your defense open to a big breakout run, and that's exactly what Shonn Greene is great at. Let them stack the damn box.
