Bring in a new QB now and you take a step back a few years instead of having a legit shot next year after a few tweaks in the game plan have been made !!!
I think it was definetly about PSL's but the fact that Mangini had not committed to a QB makes me believe that they honestly felt that Chad wasn't the guy and Clemens wasn't ready. They honestly felt they had a good team and tried to catch lightning in a bottle. It failed, Pennington proved that he was up to it this year and Mangini took the knife. Had they given the QB job to either Chad or Clemens before the move was made I think you have a better point. The fact that they were so uncommitted to a QB leads me to believe they didn't believe in either guy and when Favre became available took the shot.
