That makes the rest of this rant irrelevant. And you should believe most of what 101 says. You would be a better poster
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/audio/joe-benigno-and-evan-roberts/ Jonas Schwartz from SNY on the 20th Check the 9 minute mark and on. This is what I heard today, I hope to get more information as well. "Todd Bowles was the one that had major concerns" --- it surprised me when I heard it. We can take whatever we want from that, but the difference between me and @NCJetsfan, is I tag the people I come at and I also provide proof of anything I say here. I also watch the games like yourself, but we all know NCJetsfan doesn't
Why thank you FJF, much appreciated brothen. The same applies you in terms of excellent posting / contributions.
The team can deactivate him. The union would have no grounds to file a grievance. He still gets paid his final 2 checks. This is just another stupid decision by their organization. One in a long line of stupid decisions.
Better comment from Mo when asked if he addressed his teammates : “If they respect me, they respect me,” Wilkerson said. “If they don’t, they don’t. I understand and just have to move forward.” True team first attitude. A natural leader!!!!
I would let him play and put him on display for what he is, a fraud. I'm not paying anyone to stay home if I could help it. That's just me. As far as 101, I believe he is a good informative poster who like everyone else here including yourself has strong opinions about the team we root for. None of us are infallible, that's why I never make things personal on this forum, I simply move on to the next message if I don't agree with someone.
Thanks for that information, kudos to Bowles for making his feelings known with regards to Mo. We know Bowles will never admit to anyone outside of this organization if that was a true concern. He's no Rex from that perspective.
Except this is what the fourth or fifth instance of him being late? He was reprimanded 2 weeks ago for being late by being benched for a quarter and followed that up with being late again. The guy has fleeced the jets for millions and if a coach is going to fine you, bench you and then make you inactive, what point is there in continuing the charade? Wilkerson does not give a shit about the jets and that has been evident for the past 2 seasons. Why continue to think he's going to magically change? And why take the risk of him injuring himself when we could save 11 million or more (depending on when he's cut) in cap space? From a financial standpoint it makes 0 sense. From a talent standpoint it also makes no sense as Wilkerson has done absolutely zilch. He does not make this team better. From a public perception standpoint, it also wreaks of desperation and a circus atmosphere where the Jets are scared to make the tough decisions, despite them being the correct ones. Wilkerson should have been made inactive the rest of the way. I reiterate that the Jets front office lacks a backbone. Whether that's Chris Johnson, Maccagnan, or Bowles, it does not matter at this point. It sends a terrible message.
I'm not here to defend Cimini, but Wilkerson earned that hardball question. Another thing, Mo could of answered that question better. He could of said, I know this wasn't how the Jets organization and myself envisioned things playing out after signing my contract extension, which up to that point I had earned. I've let the Jets organization, coaches, and my teammates down. Too be completely honest with you, I have been a terrible leader, and I take ownership for that. I'm sorry to everyone.
That's what I respect about Bowles the most. In my eyes, he seems to be very fair, loyal and doesn't express frustrations to the media like Rex. He's not the best Xs and Os guy right now, I think he still has potential to be a good coach here. He just needs to fire that DC!
I think most of the Bowles hate comes from the fact he does not serve up his players to the media and fans. Both of which think they are entitled to it
They see a coach that doesn't get too high or too low ... it drives fans nuts. He doesn't put players on a pedestal. They want a Rex Ryan type personality out there. I guess fans miss us embarrassing ourselves on the back pages.
Now we just embarrass ourselves on the field with an impotent defense that has been fed first day picks since Mediocre Mac took over. No all pros. No droys. Just that zombie look from our coach answering questions as we continue to spin our proverbial wheels in the mud while other teams like the Jags show progress with a history making defense on thier way to the playoffs. I feel like I got that JET Clown sitting next to me saying, we could go 6-10! Not too shabby!
Honestly that doesn't bother me, I actually prefer a HC who is stoic as well as a good. That's why I liked Mangini, he seemed to know what he was doing however the media and fans got very little from him. The difference with those guys was I had confidence in Mangini because of the results on the field, and how the team was being put together. I just don't think Bowles is a good HC after 3 years, him giving up in Denver at the 1:00 minute mark with 3 timeouts and a short field was unacceptable to me, that is something you just can't do. You fight for everything on that field, never concede until the victory formation is being used by the opposition.
Did anyone listen to Todd Bowles' presser today? I missed it. I got a notification on my phone, but wasn't able to watch. Wilkerson turned into a big disappointment. So did Richardson, for that matter. Clue me in, but what is Wilkerson's rationalization for getting a huge contract and then shooting himself in the foot by being insubordinate? I know he said that he was upset how team doctors treated/regarded his injury, but why couldn't he just approach all involved and say I don't think my treatment is going well instead of acting like a two year old? What is so hard about showing up for meetings? I don't know, maybe there's something more beyond him turning into a lazy slob, but who am I to judge? OK, I judge. Now somebody fill me in here because I admit my complete and utter ignorance on it. If Wilkerson gets injured, the Jets are bound to pay him out. If he gets cut/traded (which he will be), what are the intricacies of his contract and what and how much are the Jets beholden for? Thanks. Hey, is Santonio Holmes still getting paid? LOL.
Yeah, basically if he tears and ACL or ends the season on IR, they're on the hook for 17mil next season..... For that kind of scratch, I'll let Johnny from Karate Kid kick me in the side of the knee.
Mangini through 2 years has the same record and was given favre for his 3rd year. No offense but there might be some revisionist history happening here
I guess you didn't watch the Jets secondary last season, because the improvement is clear. BTW, already addressed the "zombie look" I figured this would be a "reason" why people do not like Bowles. Jags got a great defense, no doubt ... took a lot of money and high draft picks (higher then ours) to get there.
The games are so irrelevant that we and the media spend a week talking about a player who will not be with the club next year. The season is nearly finished the last two games are a chance to get the young guys more experience. A foundation has been laid and there is a plan in place to upgrade with ample cap space and to draft more quality young players. I think we may look back on this season as the start of a good run for the Jets.
