Well yeah, you know that little thing called sacks? PFF seems to think they don't really matter. They basically put little value on the most important stats while focusing on the minor insignificant ones.

7 more tackles, 5.5 more sacks, 1 less forced fumble, 1 more int, 1 less PD, 2 more stops for loss.

Only in complete fantasy land is this considered a step back. 5.5 more sacks alone makes it a way better year.

It's hard to measure things like QB pressures in isolation. How many pressures did other Jets defenders have in 2012 and 2013? How long did it take the QB to get rid of the ball in 2012 and 2013? On the 2012 pressures, how many were quick and how many happened after coverage had lengthened the time the QB had the ball in the pocket?

It's just really hard to get a feel for that kind of stuff in isolation, without considering all the other factors in play.

There is one very interesting thing about Wilkerson so far in his career. According to Pro Football Reference the sacks are just the tip of the iceberg with him. He's had 3, 5 and 10.5 sacks in his 3 seasons but his AV for the three seasons has been 9, 10, 10. That a consistently good effort from a 3-4 defensive lineman. It's not superstar level but it means Mo Wilk has been a really solid bookend for 48 starts so far.

For reference, Shaun Ellis - who was a somewhat under-rated defender, only reached 9 AV in 4 seasons in his career. He had one great season near the end and 3 others in which he got to 9 or 10 AV.

B/R is definitely a great app..

As for Wilkerson, he was a beast last year. However this year I believe he will explode. Teams are going to focus their blocking schemes on stopping Richardson, which will leave Wilkerson many opportunities and there aren't too many OL who can block Wilkerson 1on 1.

Our d-line is beastly. Our secondary has been upgraded and if Milliner plays like he did at the end of the season, we could very easily have a top 5 defense again. Wilkerson is a beast. He has the physical tools. He's very smart. He can and already is leading our d-line to greatness.

I love Richardson ... But any article that doesn't realize Mo was & is our best player loses all credibility IMO

If Wilkerson had a step back was to drop into coverage

It's funny, Wilkerson had to do less last year because of Richardson, yet he accomplished more and it's his fault for not doing everything again.

I think this thread, or at least the beginning of it, epitomizes the concept of TMI. Otoh, I feel confident I speak for all TGG posters when I say that you've all limited yourself to informing us which bodily evacuation has taken place without describing the intimate details as an old friend of mine used to do. He always liked to provide a play-by-play as if his asshole was a sport or something.

On the subject of the thread.... MoWilk rocks!
