I don't recall seeing one big blitz (6+ pass rushers) the whole night from Cunningham. Outright stupidity played a part n this loss as well. I guess the Lions don't pay attention to game charting data.

Yeah, I know. They seem to be grossly overlooked. I was just wondering if anybody liked them against 1 or both teams. Don't see the Packers losing to the Giants or Falcons.

    Cunningham is not an idiot.

The Saints were going to score 5+ TDs no matter what Detroit did.

Well I think they have a chance against the Saints, but if they don't beat them, we'll never know how they'd do against GB.

He didn't pay attention to game charting data, so I'd say that's pretty bad.
Well, we'll never know the answer to that one, due to Detroit's gameplan and poor secondary.

SF could definitely keep it close vs the Saints. The 49ers pull opponents into playing ugly football. The team has good players everywhere on defense.

How do you know he paid no attention to charting data? That defense is not great at blitzing anyway. Plus, the cornerbacks are shaky. Blitzing would only mean more potential trouble for the cornerbacks.

I kind of feel the same about them vs the Packers. The 49ers play outdoors (have to deal with the wind). Granted, it's not Lambeau cold, but I like their ability to play clock control and contain teams. I think they have a decent shot against both teams. I don't like the Saints outdoors in Lambeau this late in the year.

I was just curious. Maybe it's because I'm in Florida, but nobody down here seems to be giving them any chance at all, which I don't get.

because the charting data showed a marked difference between when Brees faced 5 or less rushers and 6 or more.

    They didn't big blitz once.

As for the cornerbacks, not blitzing didn't seem to work so well for them.

Obviously blitzing is risky, but you have to take risks against the Saints.

As for the 49ers, aside from how the teams match up, the #1 reason that gives SF a good chance is that the game is not being played in the Superdome. Look at the Saints away from home this season. Not very impressive. I can only estimate the line, but I'd guess at New Orleans being small favorites (around -3). Look at what New Orleans did last year at the NFC West winner.

Refs were atrocious in that game.

The Saints took a knee on 4th down with 38 seconds left, and the refs let the clock expire. Sometimes I wonder if these guys are actually morons or if they're merely not paying attention.

And yes, the Saints were going to win the game, obviously, but that doesn't mean you stop following the rulebook.

The Lions were not a heavy blitzing team. Changing their stripes now was probably not something they felt comfortable doing.

I forgot the Giants got rocked last year in Lambeau 45-17. Dont understand why Giants fans think they can beat the Packers in Lambeau.

I find it interesting that the Broncos have a 3rd down package for Brady Quinn

Since Jets are not playing in the playoff, I gotta cheer for the Giants even though I hate the Giants.
