Alot of the WRs making plays. We've heard assorted plays made by Decker,Kerley,Saunders,Hill,Ford,Salim,Gates & even Evans is starting to settle in. Haven't heard alot about Nelson..which could mean nothing as the fans/media don't see any need to mention him given his "hold the fort" incumbent status. But he can't afford to have a quiet camp. Campbell hashn't done much other than get in a scuffle..he could be in trouble. Enunwa better get off the bike or he's gonna get left behind very quickly. Too many capable healthy alternatives to choose from
I've heard a lot about Nelson. In fact, the reporters there were saying that Nelson and Decker are catching everything thrown at them.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a mid season David Nelson resigning if he keeps things up. i think this will mostly depend on the success or failure of Smith though. Nelson is gonna be better than his rookie teammates because he's been here a bit longer, but may or may not be a better long term answer at WR than guys like Evans due to age and perceived lack of upside. His apparent (if briefly realized) chemistry with Smith gives him a decent chance at keeping a spot on this team, however. after all, if Geno's looking like a reliable starter, why not keep a man thats helped him out with that aboard for a bit? he wouldn't be very expensive, and it would be nice to have a good starter for a pretty low amount.
actually he didn't, that was some kind of mis read of the situation, he was signed to play this year as well as last for vet min and thats it. he's a free agent next year unless we re-sign him.
[quote="MoWilkNYJ, post: 3024727, member: 19 First impression, LOL MIAMI But it's interesting that even after a decent size contract to Decker, we're still pretty low on the graph. We really are not paying a lot for everyone besides him.[/quote] That's because there really isn't anyone to pay besides Decker,Kerleys never gonna get a big contract either is Nelson. We still need another WR someone with speed ,the current crop is good but still isn't anything special
All I have to say is Calvin Pryor better be damn good. I wanted this guy before the draft and nothing's changed: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...ndin-cooks-dazzles-at-new-orleans-saints-camp Meanwhile all the Amaro lovers are getting a wake-up call. I was telling people before the draft but few agreed: 1) rookie TEs almost never make an impact, especially ones who can't get on the field as much because they don't block 2) guys who run a 4.74 aren't "seam threats" 3) projecting a guy as a great pro TE based on inflated numbers in a college spread offense is a joke Amaro seems like a likable guy, but from the looks of it, his ceiling is much more Heath Miller than Rob Gronkowski. Rex Ryan will be coaching football from the grave before he drafts another offensive player in the 1st round. He stubbornly clings to the idea that defense alone can win and still hasn't figured out that you need to be able to score some damn points (more than 10 per contest) in this (passing) league to win.
He's also got Drew Brees throwing to him. I think Pryor has a more immediate impact to the team than Cooks. If you want to make argument Amaro wasn't the best pick, probably better to compare him to the second round picks like Davante Adams or Jordan Matthews that we could have gotten with a trade up or someone like Montcrief than Cooks. I agree - I wasn't / am not in love with the pick but neither was I with McDougle and he seems to be turning out fine so far so just gotta let the cards come out of the deck. Hindsight is 20/20
With Dwayne Bowe's suspension, Kansas City no longer has to pay him some guaranteed money that has been voided for this year and next, they may now reportedly cut him. If that happens, would you like to see the Jets spend a little bit to sign him?
he supposedly has a finger that repeatedly gets dislocated and can't really catch too well anymore because of it. pass
just saw the article ... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...es-finger-is-shot?campaign=Facebook_atl_patra
I was listening to the radio today and CeeLo the Jets beat reporter said if the season started today Stephen Hill would be opposite Eric Decker as the num 2 wr,that tells you the story of our depth.People need to realize that Nelson isn't anything special and Kerley is one dimensional ,we need one of these rookies to pull a Victor Cruz type of move and come out of no where
So we are basically saying that Pryor will be replacing Double A one of our best young and cost effective players.
