    1. Lofty individual stats win fantasy football matches, not real football games.
    2. Manning isn't the Greatest QB of All Time.
    3. Stop talking about intelligence, when your post clearly shows you lack it.

    Cool story bro.

You obviously dont understand concepts such as a team sport, salary cap, age, injury, ect.

I love Manning, just not on the Jets..... I hope he does go to the Dolphins. I wanna see our grocery bagger beat him twice a year. Why get a one year rental just to start all over again with yet another QB. I'm tired of it. Stick with your QB.

I can't believe some of you guys call yourselves fans.....

That's why I said "arguably" - if he isn't the GOAT, he's certainly top three or five.

Semantics aside, I would prefer the guy whose absence caused his team to go from SB contender to worst record in the league overnight. In comparison, you think it's smart to stick with one of the worst statistical QBs in the league, so therefore it's all on you.

i'll take Sanchez's shitty stats if it means we still win games and have success in the playoffs.

You can keep Manning and his neck made of popsicle-sticks.

The problem is this, we have a group of people that want/believe in Mark and then a group that thinks/knows Mark will not get the Jets a win in the superbowl.

If Peyton is healthy he is the best option for this team, he automatically makes the wideouts/O line that much better....

I really don't understand how people can ignore the 2 biggest issues at hand. Sanchez aside... 1) Manning has had 4 fucking surgeries to his neck. 2) The Jets have very limited cap space with holes that need to be filled.

He probably felt like throwing out some personal attacks just to make himself feel better.

Honestly let's just think how we could afford him.

I'd imaging he commands no less than 12 mil a year. We are 7.5 mil under the cap. So bye bye to signing Pouha, and any other free agents. We would have to re structure contracts or cut players to get enough room for him and the draft picks we need to sign.

And all that for a QB who may never be healthy again, or is one good hit away from his career being over. Scary to think about with our Oline. There are a number of hits Sanchez took last year in the Ravens game alone that would have moat likely ended Peyton.

Let's just stick with Rex's vision. Strong run game, ball control offense, and solid top 5 defense. I'm not in love with Sanchez but its not like he hasn't shown promise.

    So my answer: absolutely not.

As someone who broke his back skiing last month, I can tell you the "three/four surgeries" are overstated.

He had two minor procedures to try and clean up/relieve pain (fix a bulging disk), which failed, and so the third surgery was a fusion.

It's a non-ideal (having permanent titanium rods and screws, long recovery time) but it also will heal into something significantly stronger than the years he had disk issues.

He had two vertebrae fused as far as I know. I have four (though in a less flexing region: T10-L1). *pops two percocet*

What can I do to make you say 'Have a nice nite' one more time? A hat trick just isn't enough.

If the Jets were to sign Manning they would need to cut Sanchez. That would free up 9+ million on the cap so they could give him about 10 million this year and still be in the same situation they are currently in going into free agency with Sanchez as the starter. Any more would affect what they could do in free agency outside of manning.

As far as the injury goes I'm no doctor but obviously if my team physicians tell me his neck can't take the hits an nfl QB will see then you don't do it. I haven't heard that though and from what I have heard is once the nerve regenerates there should be no lasting Ill effects. Also remember Peyton is one of the most durable QB's of all time. He has great pocket awareness so rarely gets hit hard and he is a big guy who has been in great shape throughout his career. If anyone can stay healthy following surgeries like this its him.

So if you can afford him and you believe he is healthy then it comes down to whether you think Sanchez will develop like an Eli Manning did and be a top level QB for the next 8-10 years. I have been a supporter of Sanchez and would really like to see what he can do with a new coordinator and a year of adversity under his belt. By no means do I think we can say based on his first 3 years he will never be anything more than he is but at he same time I'm no more sure than I was on the day that we drafted him if he will be a great nfl QB or not. Right now im not confident enough in Sanchez to just pass on getting a healthy Peyton Manning in here for 3-4 years.

This may all be a moot point depending on where Peyton wants to play but I think the Jets should do their homework.
