Im not a fan of this. I would at least play the starters for the 1st half. If sanchez doesn't start thats a big mistake. give him some reps before the play offs.
He just played one of his most complete games as a pro and he has a sore shoulder. If he plays a few series fine but he should not be put in a position to make that injury worse.
I wouldn't mind starting everybody but Sanchez but it'd be nice to get him at least a few reps as mentioned right above.
Would you like holmes, sanchez, ellis, revis, and other going into KC or wherever and being banged up?? Its a meaningless game, would it be nice to go 11-5, yes. Does it matter if we do or don't? No. Were in the playoffs. The offense has gotten their crap together. Plus the Jets need to see some of their 'future' talent on offense atleast.
This is not a meaningless game, we can move from the #6 to the #5 seed depending on what happens around the league, which means potentially missing NE in the 2nd round or hosting the AFCCG.
Early weather reports have it being a rainy 40-45 degree day so if its raining....there really should be no reason to have the older and more important guys out there. If you want Gholston and those types of players out there who are rotational strictly, that is fine but no need to get the old guys back. Besides the Bills cannot stop the run so if you rush with McKnight, there could be a good chance Buffalo might have some trouble in even stopping him.
Rest some guys and not others, like the poster mentioned before...it's a 3rd pre seasons game LT and T-Rich should be on the sidelines in street clothes, Sanchez should be holed up in Florham Park studying the Chiefs defense. This would be a good time to give McKnight 20 carries
jeez u guys are quite snarky in this discussion WOW. Its a legitimate claim not to rest starters ever let alone in the situation were in. My feeling is for Rex to do what he feels necessary and rest whoever he wants but we better f@@@ing WIN. seriously I dont care if its Sanchez, Brunell, Clemens or sexy Michelle Ryan herself back there if the JETS dont win I am going to be mad as hell. say what u want about not mattering and being in the playoffs yada yada, but losing is never ever good for a team, and losing what 4 of 5 to close the season is straight up damaging. The Patriots and Steelers in recent years have rested there starters but more often than not they WON or played hard to win there games. If we roll out there and sleepwalk with Brunell and girly Mcknight we are going to get smacked by a Bills team that is playing better and havent mailed it in yet at HOME. And when/if that happens I am personally going to BOOO my head off at a 10-6 pansy squad. Defense needs to get back to playing like a championship D and the offense needs to not play flat and play controlled in the playoffs. Playing that way and WINNING next week will go a long way towards making that happen in the playoffs regardless of whos playing. So play who you want REX but remember if the squad lays an egg against Buffalo, its 4th time in a little over a month, it will certainly lay an egg in the playoffs
