It's more for my Brother's sake. He comes to all the Jets games with me but this one his Bills fan wife will be joining us. He's the one that has to put up with all her shit, so a Jets victory would do him some good. If we have to kill her then so be it. LOL!
20 years and counting. At first it was the unfashionable uniforms. Then it was an identity with the team. I'm a total loser with a bitter streak. People laugh at us. I get that.
its so annoying that you cant just drop a team the way you can favourite band or movie - I have been a fan since the mid-80s and its been nothing but disappointment, frustration and bitterness ever since then - I wish, really, really wish, I could switch to another team as this franchise is just awful - always has been always will be - I would lay good money that it will never win a SB before I die (according to most statistics that's probably 40 years from now).
No matter what I'll always be a Jets fan. This stage it just wouldn't feel right to ever be a fan of another team. When we get it all together it will be one of the best feelings ever.
I'm a week away from 43. I'm barely a fan and come here to vent so I don't care what most say about me. I moved away from the market and only catch national games. I pay for the NHL package to watch my beloved Devils (who are mediocre at best) and am numb to the NFL due to the Jets being fucking shit 95% of my adult life. I don't watch other teams (Live in the Philly market) and focus on other sports now. I know I'm in the minority but this is what a lifetime of mediocrity gets with a select few. Fuck the NFL.
My pop made me do it. Sat me down and said your gonna watch this. I was 10. Im 56 now and seen not all but most of it. the following week we won the superbowl! I was hooked on Namath and the Jets helmet insignia. Why do i keep comming back? Hell, i never left.....dont intend to either. My kids are Jets fans too now. Sometimes i wanna apologize for raising them Jets fans, but what the heck, we love our team. Frustrating as it has been I watch every game and attend 1 or 2 a season. Go Jets.....Best player the Jets let go for financial reasons? John Riggins......loved that dude.....still my favorite jersey next to Namath and Maynard........and Klecko not far behind
Rooting for the Jets is like playing the same lottery numbers every week for 20 years but never winning. You don't dare switch numbers because you KNOW the moment you do, your old number will win big, and you'll be sitting there in your new Steelers jersey saying "What the fuck".
I'm pretty much going to mirror what everyone else has been saying. Born into it, celebrating brief flashes of brilliance through the years only to be shoved back into the gutter again and again. Sigh...I miss the 80's.
