We're all experts, or we wouldn't be here. You seem to be easily satisfied, or a relative of Bowles - I'm neither. We want to see "more wins in 2018" - doh! That's always a great goal, but do we just write off 2016 and 2017 because he had a winning record in 2015? Is there another reason for keeping him around? Is there something you saw as a positive development in 2016? You're happy with the game planning? The use of personnel? The lack of adjustments? The appearance that the players were neither physically nor mentally ready to play on a week to week basis? The tank threads were ridiculous, and thankfully supported by just a few here who don't understand why you play the game. But if you want to limit gauging the success of the of the head coach solely on the performance of the quarterback, you're missing at least 60 percent of the game.
Bruce Arians is seen as a top tier HC. How many wins do you think he would have gotten out of this Jets team? Remember, he went 7-8-1 this year.
The worst thing that could have happened to the Jets was going 10-6 in 2015. It skewed everything. It skewed how we evaluated the talent on this team. It skewed how the CS performance was judged. It threw the entire evaluation process off track. 2015 was a mirage of the worst order. Its like dying of thirst in the desert and the only oasis is equivalent of Hudson River water to drink. Glad its wet, but it can kill ya. We all were hoping against hope that 2015 was the floor, not the ceiling. Sadly that wasn't the case. Now we face the harsh realityfteam. That's where we come up short isn't it. Please Guys.. lower your expectations for 2017. Don't do it for me, do it for you! In fact, you'd be better served by eliminating any expectation whatsoever. Expect nothing and simply evaluate what happens from a completely neutral perspective. If the team progresses, bravo to Bowles and his revamped CS. If they suck but show some improvement? Take a long hard look at that and remember what we saw in 2015. If they suck and only show scant potential? Burn it down and start over. That's the reality of it all. We're almost at rock bottom. Only the Browns, Jags, 49'ers keep us above zero when it comes to piss poor planning and organization. Teams have been known to recover and rebound, but first they have to admit to themselves that they suck. Kinda like an addict admitting that indeed, he is...
