Why are we not in the Brees sweepstakes?

I'm not trying to say he is a bad GM. All I mean is that he is putting pride ahead of his CS's wishes. It's not like Rivers hurts the team, but the CS would be happier with Brees.

San Diego could compete for a Super Bowl right now. With Rivers in there they finish last in that division next year. Letting Brees go is a huge mistake.

I totally agree. I know a lot of people here have nothing good to say about Brees, but IMO, he is a great QB, and a huge loss for SD. Their CS seems to agree with me too.

Brees is a very accurate decission maker. He isn't particularly big and strong and he has been soruonded by pretty good talent. I like Brees on a warm weather team or in a dome. He would get his ass kicked playing outdoors for a northeat team 8 home games a year.

I totally agree with that assessment. San Diego right now along with Denver, Colts, and Steelers are in the best position to win the Super BOwl

Hmmm, interesting point. You may be right, but I have never watched enough of him in say, Denver in December, to make an accurate call on that.

Doesn't matter, the more I consider it, the more I want to draft a QB and just keep Penny and Bolly this year. Let the cards fall where they may. If we are in rebuild mode, then commit to it in earnest. No more retreads.

Thats a good point. Similar to how I think Pennington would have been better off in a dome or for a team who plays in good weather.

AJ Smith is a moron. A total and complete moron. You're right that he's better then Millen, but then so is my dead grandmother. AJ Smith is a fool.
