Idzik has a modicum of football knowledge and is not just a capologist so I guess I'm hoping it will be him. I also don't think Gamble, Sundquist or Field are even in the Jets thinking.

Cohen had a worm's eye view of how NOT to do it. Plus Rex with all his 'loyalty crap' has probably already told Woody to hire him. Plus Rex knows how to work this dude over like a cheap suit to get the players he wants. Yup. Rex has already made the call.

You should've put up a Tanny option for the darkest of darksiders.

The scary think is that with the way Johnson operates no matter who it is he will be here for years. Johnson doesn't like to fire anybody and all you have to do is lkook at Tannenbaum for proof. After years of horrible drafts he was still trying to keep him in some capacity while firing him as GM.

Voted for Gamble but the first 4 names in the poll (Sundquist, Idzik, Gamble, Khan) + Popp would vary between good and great selections.

I think the best selection was Caldwell, but I would only consider Popp a "second tier" selection.

I voted for Idzik because for Woody, I think he makes sense. Honestly wouldn't be upset if we went with Khan as well. The reason why I'd be happy with Khan is because he's young and hungry, AND hopefully he brings that Steelers mentality of contract negotiations with him where no players contract will be discussed (no matter how good or bad) until the end of their contract year. I would really love that.

What are you basing this off of? The fact that they are doing their due diligence?

My hope is for Gamble, but at this point let's get anyone in there and hope for the best.

As long as it's not Cohen.

This team needs a new direction, and Cohen seems to be just the same old..same old.

We need someone who knows football, not a bean counter. Hate the three choises, may as well left Tranny.

    Woody is a joke!!!!

Woody doesn't want a GM who knows more about football than him, so he doesn't look stupid when they talk to each other.

It might be Gamble. Gamble is considered a top candidate, but yet he gets NO more interviews after interviewing with the Jets. I'm buying into that theory about the Jets having Gamble already signed, but the Jets haven't announced it yet.

I didn't include Popp because I read yesterday that his name was removed from consideration. So.....play the field if you want Popp. :)
