It's called hyperbole, people. OP obviously knows life could be worse. I'm still at a point at which I have no interest in watching the SB, but will likely do so. We'll be going to Disneyland on Sunday, which likely means being surrounded by Bears fans, Jets fans, and homosexuals. But at least it won't be crowded. Should be home in time for the game. I'll put it on, but I'd be lying if I said I'd give it my full attention. Oh, and Super Bowl parties fucking suck unless you're there with a real fan of one of the teams. Last time I went to one was be because my buddy was a huge Cards fan. Before that it was the Bears. Before that, the Seahawks. I haven't been to a single one on SBs when the Pats have played, dating back to 97.
oh there are such manly men in this thread not bothered at all by the loss, you guys rule!! anyways, I'm with the OP and others..........Super bowl week 2 years in a row has sucked. Would much rather be a) planning my travel/tix arrangemnts for the game.or b)at worst, planning the party at my house for the Super bowl......with my team out, all that shit's off.......Lets' go Packers
I guess not. Just wanna say that there is a large difference between not having much of an interest in watching the Superbowl and declaring this the worst week ever. One is normal and the other reeks of being a giant bundle of sticks. OP is the latter.
you kenny why are you taking such a fucking personal vendetta against this post. NO SHIT its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. THat why im keeping my mouth shut at work. Thats why im not talking about it with my girlfriend. BUt you KNOW WHAT on A FUCKING NY JETS FOOTBALL FAN FORUM I will say THAT THIS WEEK SUCKS SHIT. I had tickets to the superbowl. I was ready to take my dad to a game hes wanted to see his whole life. Ya I sold the tickets, ya life goes on, BUT you know what? I fucking love football. So i watch sports, and every time espn does a segment on the superbowl I cringe. CUz ONCE just ONCE i thought this week would be all about the jets and not some fucking perennial slapdick powerhouse like the goddamn steelers. Im sorry the hyperbole in my post struck such a bad chord with your tight ass. I was simply reaching out to all my fellow jets fans who are sick of watching two other teams other than the jets battle it out for the lombardi trophy on national television. The fact that you have been on this specific post EVERY FUCKING DAY since i posted it has severly undermined the original intent of your post in which you attempted to put urself above the emotional investment us jets fans pour into a season.
Last year, I was very interested in the Super Bowl. This year, I don't give a fuck. I know I should be because I love football and it's two storied franchises, but I really don't care. I haven't listened to one interview, read one column, nothing. I'm not planning on going to any parties or spending any money on it whatsoever. I'm good with watching it from home.
I'm focusing on the draft, free agency and discussing how the Jets can improve for next season. Sitting around and bellyaching over a game's outcome (a week later, mind you) that can't be changed....is a waste of time and effort. This team is finally "well coached", we finally have a franchise QB, and we have the talent to be a perennial contender......stop crying.
At the grocery store today buying beer... Standing In line I look over and see Steelers/Packers balloons for sale! My heart sank lol, It was supposed to be a fuckin Jets balloon dammit
Ugggghhhhhhh.... This is the week where all the unsung Jet players were supposed to become stars.... I try to explain to my wife what this week would have been in New York... People unfortuntely don't have a clue.. It would have been off the wall.... I told her last week before the Steeler game "All hell is going to break loose if the Jets can pull this one out"......
IMO, typing a post and telling other people not to cry and telling us what you're doing is the REAL waste of time..... If people are THAT diehard that they are actually dying hard right now then Good for them..... Some people can't help it.... Yeah, we can be a perneial contender but, so can anoher 7 or so AFC teams and don't expect Indy to be down, the Steelers to have No OL and the Pats have 3 1st round draft picks and are young again..... THE ROAD back to where we were is INSANE.... I'm not getting off but, I'll continue to be pretty bummed watching Super Bowl stuff when it should be OUR PARTY..... The Steelers were so Freaking beatable..... Uggggggggggggggggggggggggh1!
I've watched basically zero coverage of this game on ESPN or anywhere else. I'll watch the game, but I'm probably going to be more interested in the commercials.
actually...I was giving some decent reasons to NOT jump off a cliff. But if posters want to do that anyway....it's a free country.
I really have no interest watching the SB this year, pretty much like I did last year. It could be connected to my hope of the Jets making it and not caring which team wins now. If anything these random GB fans in Vermont coming out of nowhere is pretty stupid though.
It's HORRIBLE here. The Steeler mania is inescapable in Pittsburgh this week. The city buses are covered with Steeler garb. The dinosaur in front of the Carnegie museum is wearing a giant black and yellow scarf. Every storefront now has something Steeler related in the window. It's INESCAPABLE! Come Friday, I will not leave my apartment except for trips to the gym. I will emerge to enjoy the sadness on Monday if the Packers win. If the Steelers win, I will stay in and work from home through Tuesday. As I said to every Jets fan that I ran into after the AFC Championship - "It could be worse. You could live here for the next two weeks." I can't wait until baseball starts... not for the Mets or Yankees, but for the Pirates... I can tolerate the Penguins until June. - "What is that?" - "A terrible towel." - "The Pirates?" - "Yeah. They're terrible."
