I'm still going with Gholston. You don't draft a playmaker that high, then don't use him to fix your QB situation. You just don't.

Or maybe Keller. He is a BEAST, after all.

No I say we go with good ole reliable Testerverde. Or Boomer, he's not doing much and looks pretty healthy for his age.

I am going to start a "Bring Back Joe Namath" campaign. Put a bottle of scotch in one hand and a beer in the other, and he's good to go.

You guys sound like you're tired out with the Chad vs Kellen tiff.

It's not a valid argument since we don't have any dog in the hunt. Only the CS does.

They say "competition", so we're going to get a "competition".

I believe it takes from 3 to 3.5 years on average for a QB to get truly NFL ready. There are so-called "prodigies", but they are often a flash in the pan and very rarely you get somebody who's both lucky (with an OL and no injuries) and good (doesn't hurt the team that badly).

Judging Kellen before he has 3.5 years under his belt is a tin-horn move, and the CS is loath to do that.

Also, the CS apparently thinks that Chad (as was Kellen) was both injuried and severely disadvantaged by the abomination of an OL they were forced to play with last year.

I also don't think it is prudent to start judging Ainge the Rook at his introduction... there is actually a helluva difference between REAL football and Madden or Fantasy Football.

I know that's hard to fathom for some of you guys... still it would help your frustration, anger, and redundancy a bit.

I would pay any sum of money to watch James Dearth take a 5 step drop, spin around, hunch over, and long snap the ball 70 yards, leading Jerricho Cotchery in stride for the TD.

One of the reasons KC won't be a starter for us, have a look at last years stats, Chad was alot better than KC, OK stats don't tell the whole story, but he was better, behind the same abomination of an O line.

What REALLY worries me is that KC doesn't work out and going back to Chad is a step back, Ainge? The poor kid isn't even out of his sweats and people are starting to bet their shirt on him.
Worst case scenario at the end of this season if we go with CP, KC and Mainge.
Cp is done. KC never will get started to get done. Mainge has just come off his rookie year and shown to be steady, but nothing flashy.
Next years QB crop is predicted to be very low in quality..... OMG the wheels just fell off our 'superbowl year'.

Joe Namath can do better than all of them with two plastic Knees. All we have to do is wheel him out and let him call his plays out of the shotgun!

We should bring C. Martin back..he is 2-2 with 2 touchdowns so basically he has a 100% completion percentage, 100% touchdown percentage and a QB rating of 158.3..

I think Smithy will be released/cut. With the arrival of Henry and return of Stuckey, emergence of Wright, I can't see any room for Smith, unless he does something amazing on ST.

No chance he will be cut. And he does do amazing things on ST.

Brad Smith gets a really bad rap on this board. He's not a future Canton inductee, but the guy plays great on special teams (is always around the ball), and does a decent job at WR, considering the limited use, and inability of our QBs to throw to him.

I think he might get more lumps than warranted because the only time he touches the ball is when he gets lined up under center. The whole world knows he's running, so he has a big bullseye drawn on his chest.

With a revamped offense, I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith take a bigger role in the offense, as a receiver.

Yeah, I guess the lack of love is a result of high expectations. The CS actually had people convinced that this guy could be our #3 QB:rolleyes: People forget he was chosen as a 4th round draft choice to be a WR...and he was told to forget about being a QB against his own protestations.

His time at WR last year was due to injuries and lack of depth. There is no way a 2nd year converted QB should end up being a third WR, except how it happened last year. It normally takes a college WR 3 years to adjust to the pro game. Therefore, he SHOULD be expected to develop into that guy in no less than 4 years. Anything sooner is butter.

REALITY: He is an excellent ST player (Tasker and Izzo come to mind), and will probably be kept around just because of that.
BONUS:Couple that with his potential as a WR and there is there is even less of a chance he is leaving.
ULTRA BONUS:He is available for trick plays, misdirections, and as a last ditch emergency QB, and it's impossible to see him leaving anytime before his contract expires.

There are so many other guys more expendable than Slash Smith...and he's CHEAP.

I can't believe 49 people still want CP to be the starter.

I can see why people voted for KC, they think he deserves a fair shot...

Well life is not fair and he is even worse than CP.

The only hope is the rookie does some amazing things in training camp...because regardless what the CS says they are not going to give him a fair shot at starting with so many CP & KC faithful.

The CS is not going to change its strategy because of ragging from this "Message Board".

The fans don't dictate to the coaches, and they would be relegated to File 13 if they did.

The CS has access to a helluva lot more information than we do. That doesn't make them right all the time, but it sure gives them a better chance than a bunch of ignoramuses reading the newspaper and fussing about it.

It seems to me that if the CS is so obstinate about having a competition for the QBs in spite of all the pissing and moaning coming from the fan fussing centers, then they have some damned good reasons.

If I were on the CS, I would certainly hope that I would not go against the unruly mob unless I knew what I was doing better than they did.

    Go with KC.
