Great idea except Jones is getting drafted top ten.

Cotch and Holmes. They have to sign Holmes, Harris and Cromartie and that is going to take a boatload of Money. Edwards is the odd man out.

Edwards is a good run blocker, but it's not like Santonio is bad at it. Besides that one awful play vs Denver I can't think of a spot where his lack of effort/efficiency ever had an impact on the run game. Braylon is a better deep WR because that's all he does, Holmes can get down field with similar effectiveness, he just doesn't need to run go routes to do it.

And the reason they shouldn't bring both back is because they won't be able to afford it. They can't give a ton of money to a guy who won't catch 50 balls per season, it's really that simple, especially when we have plenty of other positions where that money can be used. Can't spend big for two WRs on a team that should be passing less.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'd keep Holmes and Braylon if they can afford it. Big if, but with the way Cotch has played this year (not well at all) I don't see how he's not the 3rd best WR, and hence, the odd man out.

Holmes would be my number 1 choice, he is the youngest and arguably the most gifted of the three. Cotchery would be my 2nd choice because i really don't Braylon and his attitude and Cotchery always plays 10 times harder than Braylon.

You can knock Braylon's attitude, but it's not fair to say he doesn't play hard.

Braylon definitely gives 100% on gameday.

    this

people love cotch for sentimental reasons. but he's the oldest, and the least physically gifted out of the 3. he might have the best hands but it doesn't mean that much if you can't beat defenses on a regular basis

i hope we can keep them all, but i doubt it

Time for many to eat crow in this thread on Edwards. Maybe next time you'll listen to me.

I'd love if they kept Edwards (who was beast today) but since I made the brilliant decision to get an Edwards jersey I know he's either gonna be off the team or injured.

Here's my jersey rundown: Aaron Glenn (released or whatever to the Texans the next year); CMart (injured that year then eventually retired); Vilma (traded next year); Jenx (hurt that year, then this year).

When edwards is on, he can have these games on a regular basis. This is a big reason why we need to find a way to keep both Holmes and Edwards. It will be huge for the growth and development of Sanchez.

    1) Edwards
    2) Cotchery
    3) Holmes

All if possible, but otherwise I'd order it that way.

I'd rather have Edwards and Holmes because "has been" the most reliable, Edwards and Holmes are more reliable.

Edwards and Holmes. It's not even close. As much as I like Cotch, Edwards and Holmes are in another league.

I dont think we can keep Holmes and Braylon, its gonna have to Be Holmes/Cotch or Edwards/Cotch. We don't have the $$ to keep two #1 type receivers.

I'm still gonna say Holmes over Edwards, not that I don't love Edwards because he is a great big target for Sanchez but its a lot easier to find big-bodied deep threats than freakishly fast clutch receivers that can also BURN a defense.

Should we slap the franchise tag on Santonio? If he smokes herb again, he's suspended for a season. If we franchise him I believe he would be getting 10 million and we don't have any long term obligations to him if his chronic issues raise a problem. Pun intended.

interesting thought, but the Tag usually tends to backfire because we are pretty much guaranteed to lose him for good afterwards

    edit

yeah and the cap hit would hurt A LOT
