I do not think he will ever be a starter, but as a short yardage back and change of pace he could be nice
hi....no....i mentioned later in a paragraph that Pope is not the typical underdog in the Chrebet mold but that he will become a fan favorte because of his overwhelming physical stature (much like TOOOOON!) He will become beloved because he will run over people like Bavaro and catch balls like Harold Carmichael did for the EagleS over much smaller/shorter players. In light of the fact that the Jets picked up a center from the Bills and a LB,Kassell from the Titans,my prediction just might come true! With a late 1st rounder or the 35th pick the Jets just might surprise and go OFFENSIVE!!!...They could now choose a RB and my surprise pick "The Pope of NY" Imagine: QB--Cutler/Young at #4.....RB--Maroney/Addai at #29....TE--Pope at #35 JETS GO OFFENSIVE!! SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!
From the people who brought you Bennifer and Branjalina the next NYJ cult hero has to be the Tangini. The two young upstarts defying convention. The house cleaning, the Abe trade, no one will be more the face of the Jets for the next 5 years than the Tangini, Super Bowl or bust. The ultimate underdogs ... a former jock strap washer and an accountant are now in charge of a billion dollar industry, lets see Trumps crappy Apprentice show top that. They create more mystery week to week than the Show lost and 24 combined.
Marques Colston!!!!! I loved this guy when i say im run the 40 in under 4.5 at his size. Plus look what college he comes from http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/wr/marquescolston.html http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=119124 http://www.hofstra.edu/Athletics/ath_roster_detail.cfm?sport=Football&pid=C69022EC-75EB-4897-8388D1990362C819
He does not have the "cult favourite" characteristics if he is taken in the first round. He is also ranked fairly high at his position, he's a TE, right? Anyways, I have to assume that the next guy will be Cedric Houston. However, I don't think he'll be as good as Wayne or even be a really well-known player around the league if we don't give him an O-line to block.
Victor Green Instead of retiring he plays one more year and gives us some of those bone crushing hits he was famous for!
Chad Penninton, after he leads us to a Super Bowl victory in 2007, if not then, Herm Edwards, we'll still be laughing at his "deer in the head lights" look every time he see'e the clock. KC thanks for a fourth.
Thats Great!!!!!! but the new cult hero has got to be WR Dante Ridgeway. he's up there on a level with Chad Cascadden It's all in the name
 :rofl2: There was a lot of threads on Graham last year. Hopefully he can get a large following again this year.
How can you even put Cedric Houston and Jerome Bettis in the same sentence??? Jerome is going to be a HOF'er, and Houston at best, will be lucky to make even one pro bowl
Just to switch it up, I'll go with B.J Askew. Big/Athletic guy that will surprise many once he gets room to run. Late last season I thought he showed us a little something, so I'm expecting a few contributions like that per game throughout the season.
I agree. Check out my thread from a few weeks ago.... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=2944 IMO Ramsey has a ton of potential and could very well answer all of our questions at QB. I must say however, I absolutely love this Aussie punter of ours. Can't wait for him to clean someone's clock!!
