Shotty Jr did have a hand in grooming rivers and alittle of Brees you are correct. But Rivers didn't start progressing till Norv actually became the head coach and Rivers has progressed since he took over especially his throwing game has become fearless. Its just what i have noticed since i have been living here in San Diego. But shotty Jr did groom brees alittle. He just needed the space to do so.

    Bravo.

I would go as far to say that in the pre-season the so called "3rd stringers" are as a whole MUCH tougher competition than any QB faces before being drafted. Ratliff's performance DOES mean something. And when you factor in all his measurables and mechanics I like his potential as much as any QB we might draft.

Brett Ratliff in 09. There is no other choice. Hiring veterean QBs does not work. Give the young guy a shot and DEVELOP your franchise QB.

There could be a very good prospect at our Pick in round 1 this season. If Mark Sanchez comes out, I'd draft which ever of him, Stafford or Bradford falls to us.

If he can beat out Clemens and Ratliff then we try the atlanta offense of this year. Run, run some more, Pass to keep them on thier toes. Hell we are built to be a power running team anyway, may as well play like one.

Erik Ainge is total dog poo. He sucked ass at Tennessee and would suck ass for us. No chance I want that guy at QB.

If our new coach decides to start fresh and Draft his own guy then i would go with Matt Stafford. He has a rocket arm and a big passer with good skills. If we decide to stay in house, Then i would go with Clemens i mean we saw him half of 07 but he played with a terrible O-Line, This 09 Jets team with there O-Line will be 5x The team. Give em a shot. He plays bad then bring in Ratliff.

He will also almost certailny go to the Lions with the #1 overall pick and if he somehow makes it past them will 99.99% likely go by the third pick.

I am all for hiring a blonde with big breasts. Maybe one of the contestants from Bret Michaels' "Rock Of Love Bus" TV show. At least the post-game press conferences would be interesting--especially if she showed us her tits. And maybe this blonde bimbo would allow the Jets' Assistant Coaches to do their jobs and coach the game?

Or would they be like Eric Mangini and overrule them at crucial points of the game?

Geezis, I posted this as a joke but maybe I am onto something after all.

Ratliff won't be the QB unless they can't make a trade or pick up a FA. And nobody will draft Sanchez...he is too much like Leinart. They are still in win now at all costs mode and Ratliff don't fit that mold.

This may certainly be the case, but I think it will depend on who they pick to be their Head Coach. I personally really think they like Ratliff and that's why I think Brian Schottenheimer has a good chance to be the next HC.

They do like him and it was said many times by sportscasters over the course of this year that the Jets see Ratliff and not Clemens as their QB of the future.

I just don't think it will be next year. Right now, with presumably a rookie HC and no QB the Jets may not do any better than 3-13 next year. Playing the AFC South and NFC South will be a disaster. I don't know how they are going to fix it but I think an established QB would help.

I'm sure we could bring in Kurt Warner to fumble away a few games.

Now that Mangenius is in Cleveland, let's trade Brad Smith, David Barrett, and Bryan Thomas for Derek Anderson

This Actually might not be a bad idea. He had a raw deal from day one.

I was thinking the same thing. The one game I saw him playing with the Giants, he wasn't bad. Given the right environment and coaching, he could flourish.

    It happened for Jim Plunkett.
