I voted for jenkins. This guy is going to be an absolute terror in the middle. He will make the guys next to him and behind him a whole lot better. If Harris was racking up 12 tackles a game with Drob in front of him just imagine what he is gonna be able to do with more space to work.
I do think it's kind of silly to have this poll now, but might as well follow the piper. If...IF he works out, I think Jenkins is the one dude that could help turn the entire team around. Our defense was pretty in the second half of last year. We've even added some kick ass linebackers. All we really needed to have a potentially great D was the big guy in the middle. Jenkins can be that guy. If he plays up to his ability, we could have a great D this year...dominant. That in turn will give the O good field position and a relaxed feel because we won't be down so much. All the O needs is to score a few TDs and the confidence will be high. But it all starts with the D...and the D starts with the big guy in the middle.
Kris "the mountain" Jenkins was an easy choice for me...first time in a long time we didnt have a "scrub", "hold-the-fort guy", "undersized guy with a good motor", "guy with potential" or "guy playing out of position" in the center of our D-Line. How many times over the last 10 years have we watched bigger backs and bigger lines maul our D-line...me thinks way too many. It ends here. Jenks, Harris, Pace, Gholston, Ellis and Coleman ... I dont know if they are going to be an awesome D, but I will bet that they do not get pushed around and embarrased. People talk alot about Faneca making D'Brick look better, I hope thats the way it goes and not Faneca looking pedestrian trying to cover for an overmatched D-brick.
Has to be Faneca. He shores up our biggest hole and will immediately solidify out O-line...even if we didn't get a RT
My thoughts exactly. I think everyone is going to be very pleasantly surprised what kind of an impact Jenkins makes immediately. Faneca will also be an instant morphine boost to our o-line but who knows how well it will play with Woody on the right and the new coaching.
Faneca simply because he turns our biggest weakness into a strength. With his leadership abilities it's just going to change the whole mindset of the line overnight.
Yes indeed i can remember dreading when Bettis would come in for Staley and steam roll us in the fourth quarter.
Faneca helping out the running game should also help in Clemens' development. Speaking as a Giants' fan I can tell you that a physical and grinding running game can do wonders for a QBs development. This team is in a good position to challenge the Patriots in a year or so, and could take 2nd in the division this year. But you'll only go as far as Clemens can take you. For his part, Clemens can take you farther if he has a running game to help him out.
Jenkins does have to prove he can get into shape, but he hasn't missed a game due to injury in 2 full seasons. What further proof do you need? Jenkins gets my vote in this. The guy is a monster and needs to be double-teamed a lot, I think he is going to help turn our front 7 around immediately.
Jenkins might end up being more important than Faneca but due to injury it's a no brainer. Faneca is the most important because lines win super bowls. The most exciting pickup is probably Keller though. He may be a top 5 TE quick.
Faneca will always show up..he has been to multiple Pro Bowls and will have the instant impact that is needed for an offensive line.
Kris Jenkins has that reputation that he can't stay healthy. IDK how accurate that is though. Plus I think offensive line is more important than D.
Jenkins. If the Jets have any hope of being a legitimate contender this year it's going to emanate from the defensive side of the ball, where they have not been good since 2004 or dominant since 1998.
