By the way - when was the last time a team with an "elite" WR won a SB????? Look at the SB winners in the current decade and the common denominator is DEFENSE and not some elite (prima donna) WR.

The SB winners since 2000 are Baltimore, New England, Tampa, New England, New England, Pittsburgh, Indy, NYG, and Pittsburgh.

The only team that can remotely be considered a passing team with elite receivers is Indy, and the only reason they won the SB in 2006 was because their defense stepped it way up in the playoffs. And don't go trying to refute my point by bringiny up WRs who had one great game in the playoffs or SB (Holmes, Burris, etc.). The reason almost all these teams won a title was their defense, not because of a WR.

I would say trade for Boldin but not sure what they will want in return. The most I would give is the 2nd rounder. Stay away from Hous he's not a #1 WR. LOL and we thought last offseason was interesting.

I'm actually not crazy about either Boldin or Housh. I'm always questionable of a WR who is across from an elite WR...call it the John Taylor Syndrome. I'm not saying that both of these guys would be busts on the Jets, but I'm also not sold that they would be worth the money (which is going to be a lot) without a true stud across from them.

I'm sure we'll be drafting a WR in the first 2 rounds, as to who it will be, who knows. I think a lot of it is going to come down to how the draft plays out. I have a feeling they will be going either WR or CB in the first round.

I agree but would say Boldin is the real deal. He put up big numbers before Fitz was even there. If they get him I'd be happy b/c not all is he a good WR he is one tough SOB.

No question about his toughness. I know he's a good receiver, but I'd like to start building the Jets from the draft and from guys who just haven't developed yet.

I just read that back and got a chuckle when I got to the part about the Jets building through the draft. Imagine that!

We are gearing up to make a bigtime run here. If anyone thinks we are going into the offseason with this current crop of wideouts your fooling yourself.
New stadium next year, PSL's to sell, New coach, No Favre. Woody is going all out to make this team a contender. This off season is going to make last years look like childs play. All we need is a smart QB, not a superstar. We are going to solidify our O-line, give Rat/Clem a big time wideout, and build a monster defense.
Fasten your seatbelts boys & girls, we're ready for takeoff!!

don't forget Deion Branch came up huge for the Pats.

may not have been a #1 during the season, but he was the MVP.

This draft definitely have some nice receivers.
The key is who will have the most value at the 17th pick
It seems like this year has a great class of OTs and WRs
Since we don't need a tackle and yeah the corners in this class are ok but, is a guy like Vontae Davis's value as high as a Hakeem Nicks or a Bey?

Put together a haymaker trade for Braylon Edwards. Send Bryan Thomas and Brad Smith to cleveland for Edwards. We get our number 1 wide out, and we also have the pleasure of getting rid of 2 "mangini" guys. Plus more cap room :)

    get it done tanny

you better include a couple of "tug n' rubs" for Mankok if you think Smith/Thomas is all it's gonna take to bring Edwards to the Jets.

Since we are talking about cool trades, why don't we trade Bryan Thomas and Brad Smith for L. Fitzgerald? I mean he doesn't drop as many passes as Edwards. Shit I would even throw in Eric Smith or Drew Coleman...... or do you think that is giving away too much?

Ok but only for mangini, and it has to be bob sutton doing the rubbing and tugging. He's been doing it for years to mangini. That tactic has to be what convinced mangini this guy was a good defensive coordinator. It should prove adequate to get the deal done given the history.

hold on Puck.....hold on there guy.

Let's keep it realistic...we all know Fitz is going nowhere. We at least have a remote chance at Edwards.

All JETSFANNYC has to do is package Bryan Thomas, Brad Smith, 8 "Tug n' Rubs" for Mankok and grabs B.Quinn's junk a couple of times.....we could land Braylon Edwards.

Edwards wants the fuck out of cleveland anyway. All i takes is for him to start yappin, and he's gone. for the right deal
