Leinart will never make it to us. Taking him off, of the options listed, I'd go with Cutler.

    Like I said yesterday...

Trade a mid round pick for Ramsey to start most of the year...

    Draft Jay Cutler #4 overall...

Drew Brees has the most success as a starter, and hes defiantly talented. Then again, he had an O-line in SanDiego, so i really couldnt tell you. But Brees gets my vote for NFL experience

Drew Brees = Chad Pennington = never to be successful starter again.

yea i liked brees to be a jet but his injury worries me. besides if we are rebuilding i rather a young qb to grow with the team. who knows how long the jets will take to be a playoff contender and brees maybe on his downfall by then..

Brees' downfall began last year when he tore his rotator cuff as well. go back and check it out. No NFL QB has ever comeback and been anywhere near effective after that type of shoulder surgery. The last one in my recent memory that tried was Majicowski. The following year, he returned with a very sub par season, and noted the loss of zip on his ball and that no matter how hard he worked it just wouldn't come back. The Pack traded for Farve, that off-season and Majic man floated away into the anals of NFL could have beens...

Rich Gannon tore his rotator cuff, then went on to win NFL MVP.

And they all would equally cost a bundle of money. Can't afford to pay $6-7 million a year to a QB right now, and we never should tie that much money into just one player.

what people arent understanding is pennington doesnt have a healthy arm...sure if penningtons arm was healthy id pick him....but the fact of the matter is he tore his rotator cuff TWO YEARS IN A ROW....no matter what his arm will never be full strength as we knew it again...

    vince young is the choice

    or daunte culpepper..

If I recall, he tore it after his MVP season, and hasn't played since.

I don't disaagree with your feelings about Penny but what boggles my mind is why you think Culpepper who had one of the most severe knee injuries ever will be healthy enough to be our starter.

    Wrong.

He tore his rotator cuff a few years before winning MVP. Then he tore his labrum in 2003 and still came back in 2004 throwing as good as ever. His career ended on a blow to his head, not because of his shoulder.

If not Chad, then Cutler...that's how it should be for everybody here....it's the most obvious thing to do..

  18. I'd like to see us start the year w/ Bollinger at QB..w/ Cutler waiting in the wings..

That would be fine with me if we can't keep Chad.

I really don't know, this was totally unexpected. We no longer have any jet QB of starting caliber on the roster. The only one there that even looks interesting is Brees, who is a risk., but I think he will come back just like he was.
