Truly, I don't understand your love for the first 2 teams you mentioned and still root for the Jets, it's completely foreign to me. The Giants, I dig what they did in last years SB, so I could probably understand that a little bit, but whatever you do, do not put your money on the Dolphins, or else you might have to go through humiliations such as what happened to my nephew. see for yourself- http://youtube.com/watch?v=D1RxWuliGOY
GAYtriots by far, I detest ALL Boston teams. and I STILL don't understand the need to hate the Giants, they are in a different conference than the JETS.... Wait I take that back even though I don't hate the Giants I DETEST the MUTS (Mets). If the Mets were NUKED I would not blink an eye, by the way just move their sorry asses to New England. METS BLOW!!!!!
Hey, ATL-JET, although I basically, sort of, almost agree with you? A whole lotta Jets fans follow the team based on the years they shared Shea Stadium with the Mets, you know, back in the day when our New York Jets beat the Colts to win the Super Bowl? And the Mets won the World Series against the Orioles? And then the Jets beat the Giants in the next preseason to cement their crown as Kings of New York City? Yes, even though I am very, very old, I do remember these days--when the Jets and Mets (and Knicks) ruled New York City... I remember when the AFL was nothing. When the Jets were a joke. So I hope that you, and other Jets fans, try to respect those Bad Old Days, when the Jets were nothing but became everything with one amazing, supreme Super Bowl. The game that we can't seem to return to. The game that, some people say, the Jets sold their soul to win in 1969. So please understand that, even though you are too young to understand it, that: Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away... Mets and Jets fans were one and the same. As were Yankees and Giants fans.
I hope the kid won't need therapy later!... The present day Bills and Dolphins have not shown much to cheer for. But as I am a football fan first and a Jets fan second, I have great fond memories of Bills and Dolphins past. Don't get me wrong, I am not the team jersey, face painting kinda fan. I just love great football, ironically, I must have smelled something fishy around the Patriots, because I think prior to that tuck rule game, I was indifferent towards them, that game left a bad taste in my mouth, it was a huge in-justice.
The fish being lousy of late makes it harder to hate them, but over the course of my being a Jet fan, the years of hatred of them far exceed those for the Pats. Used to be you'd go to the Meadowlands for a Pats game and their fans in general seemed like a bunch of drunken losers, but no way did they have the level of obnoxious arrogance that fish fans have, and still have despite their recent ineptitude. Of course the nature of the Pats fan base has changed since winning their tainted SB's, now including a sizeable portion of front running bandwagoneers who didn't hardly follow football before 2001, who have now evolved into cheater enablers and at best morally ambivalent relativists. Still, I find them almost more pathetic than hateful in the completely transparent way they came to root for a bunch of cheaters and then try to make excuses no one else buys. Of course it is far closer a question than it was 8 or 10 years ago.
Hate teh Pats with a passion. I'm only 23 so only the last 10 seasons come to mind. The pats are the biggest a-holes in the league and Tom Brady deserves to be raped in the butt. The phins don't bother me and if Taylor was available to teh Jets, I'd take him in a heartbeat
LOL! Ha Ha! The story behind the video was last year during the Pats almost perfect season, and the Fins almost winless season, my nephew decided to bet me that the fins would beat the Pats. My reaction was, " Are you out of your mind!". He said that he had faith in his team, and that he wasn't going to back down. I said O.K. heres the bet, If the Pats win you get to wear a dress, and I'll post it on youtube, if the Fins win I'll wear the dress, and I will personally post it on youtube ( I knew I wasn't going to lose). He accepted the bet. And shortly after we made the bet, I again asked him," Are you sure you want to do this? You know we don't have to make this bet if you don't want to." Again he stated that he had faith that his team would win. So the link to the video you saw was a result of a die hard fins fan betting on the Dolphins. My hats of to my nephew for being a good sport, and keeping his end of the bargain.
That was hilarious! "Don't touch me, I don't want to get Jetitis." "1969..." "And you're still wearing a dress!"
man that's unfair! as the adult you are supposed to take care of the kid, not take advantage of him. When I was about 6 or 7 I insisted to my uncle that airplanes could stand still in the air, (I had seen it) I wouldn't listen to reason, so he gave in, no need to bet me to prove a point. I would come to my senses soon enough. ... I'm just busting your chops though... that is quite funny, and just think, like all those millions of drunken sluts on the net, it will be there for ever. (if someone else grabs it of course)
i gotta go with the pats. i just spent the last five years getting shit for wearing a pennington jersey while attending northeastern university. nothing makes me happier than when bad things happen to the patriots organization and its members. the dolphins blow and one of my earliest football memories was the fake spike, but they are so off the radar as competition at this point. the bills are worthless, and thats why no one even considers them a new york team. the giants, shouldnt really be in this discussion. what they did to the pats deserves the respect of all jet fans. besides, never in the history of the nfl has their season had any significant bearing on our season.
the fins have sucked for how many years now? i mean i love beating the fins twice a year and will always love the fins sucking, but we've been owned by the pats for quite a bit of time and that always stings more at the present.
I picked the Dolphins because it goes back further for me, due to age. If there was an option for "The Rest of the NFL" I'd have chosen this one. I'm a very angry and hateful Jet fan.
