The Jets could trade McCareins and Barrett for other veterans. It may not be for picks.

I like our draft. Buffalo had a nice draft, getting Polsluzny where they did was nice value.

Oh yeah, they got some great players.

Jarrett is a major steal in the 2nd round and looks very much like Keyshawn Johnson.

I'll throw out Detroit as well, Millen had his first solid draft in recent memory and didn't pussy out on CJ after not being able to trade the pick.

I think Atlanta, Cleveland, and Arizona had the best Day Ones.

The Polsluzny pick was good but what about the Marshawn Lynch pick? I thought that was a reach and a half. Not a good pick by the Bills in the first round, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I really liked the Bills draft. I think they got a good RB in Lynch and an extremely under-rated LB in Posluszny.

Although I think the Eagles made a horrible choice with Kolb. And they traded their first to the Cowboys. I would have thought that the Eagles would have stayed at 26 and picked Posluszny. Although I really liked their pick of Tony Hunt in the third round.

Has to be Cleveland. To get two top 5 talents in the same draft is remarkable. On the flipside and it has been pointed out before, Miami had a chance to get their next Marino and passed. The only thing that would have been better would be if we took Quinn and he spent the next 15 years after chad is gone picking them apart twice a year.

Oakland has the ultimate boom-or-bust draft. Russell could be great, or he could be Bad Daunte II.

Zach Miller should be a solid TE.

Quentin Moses is a 1st round talent that gave a 3rd round performance in college, and that's where they got him.

Mike Bush might've been the most talented RB in the draft, and they got him in the 4th.

Even trading for Mike Williams, who could thrive under Kiffin, or could be the same old Mike Williams.

If these guys pan out, they look like geniuses. If not, they still suck.

Even when healthy Bush was never as talented as AD. Otherwise, I agree with your take on Oakland's draft. Also good was that the Raiders rid themselves of locker room jerk Randy Moss.

I didn't say he was going to suck, I just thought that the Eagles shouldn't really go after a QB that early with other needs at LB and DE.

I think it was good because McNabb is constantly getting hurt and the fans are tough on him. If Kolb is as good as I think he is, McNabb might be out of a job by the 2008 season. The Philadelphia fans will probably like Kolb because he is a tough guy who has moxie. They loved Jeff Garcia for those reasons. Kolb's shown poise under pressure and can make all the throws.

The Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers probably have the best drafts. I'm still a huge proponent of Charlie Frye in Cleveland and I'm curious as to what is going to happen to him.

That's the definition of a 3rd round pick. There's no such thing as 1st round talent attached to 3rd round production.

You can however have 3rd round talent attached to 1st round production if the competition is weak enough and/or the system disguises flaws in the prospect.

The reason for the contrasts above is that production is part of 1st round talent. It can't be separated out because people who do not produce just aren't worth looking at in a 1st round context.

most raider drafts are of the boom and bust type with the way they have their front office set up.
