I am sure Woody cares about his reputation and does not like losing but I don't think he cares about us, his players or anyone but himself nor has he ever. Woody said in 2012 that Mitt Romney winning the election was more important p than the Jets winning. I think that tells you his priorities. His focus is on money for himself everyone else be damned.

I hope I am right also LOL I just think that they are idiots but they are not completely blind. It is obvious to anyone in this league that the Jets suck balls and Adam Gase is horrible. It is also a fact that Douglas is widely respected around the league. I sincerely believe they will let him control it. I hope to all hell I am right, but it is just hard for me to believe they would continue this shit show. I can not see Douglas signing a long term contract like he did if he did not know if he would have control in the years moving forward.
Well, they hired Gase & JD with Bowles/MM still under contract, which means they're paying double (for now). They also handed JD a record GM contract I've never heard of before this. So it seems like they WANT the Jets to be better, and aren't afraid to spend their own money on it. Coaching, GM, Scouting comes out of their own pockets independent of the salary cap for players. If they were cheap and didn't care the woulda let the Bowles/MM contracts play out and then hired another unknown GM for pennies on the dollar. They did the opposite, and it costs the dearly.
Our owner got busted for giving babies cancer. Its so bad it sounds made up. That is the caliber of person he is. Seriously, the Johnson's don't care about anything but themselves. They are an embarrassment and the single best reason for ending our Jets fandom.
Some owners care about their teams winning and other owners care about their team as strictly an investment. Either way, what difference does it make if the team sucks ass like the Jets?

The Johnsons know the reality of the situation. They are under zero pressure to put a winning team on the field. Just revenue in the bank. They will never be forced to sell the team and as such, will never sell until one or both of them die. This is the reality of the Johnson's ownership of the New York Jets. Its as hopeless and toxic as Dan Snyder's ownership of the Washington Football Team. Coining a phrase: "It is what it is.."
I think people are confusing caring about their business and caring about the fans. They do NOT care about the fans, if they did we wouldn't have been forced to pay for the stadium via PSL's. They do care about the Jets, they just put their trust in the wrong front office people, listened to the wrong advisors etc. What they should have done is consult with smart owners and use that information to structure the firm. They do spend money, they just had people in charge that didn't spend it wisely. Woody's life isn't consumed by the Jets like some other owners, that doesn't make him a bad owner but he has never hired the right people to run football operations. To be 20 years into ownership of this team and never have 1 competent FO person is inexcusable but its his team he can run it poorly and it still makes money because of the NFL TV contracts. You can't fix stupid but you can try to help him find the right people to run football operations then he can become the teams #1 cheerleader.
I do think the Johnsons care, but they're clueless about how to build a winning franchise, yet they think they do. SO the question becomes, for me: Do they care more about building a winning franchise, or is being the owner and being able to stick their fingers in things more important? I believe it's the latter, up until now. Whether they finally decide to get out of the way is another question.

Reality is. 1..jets are now relegated to the laptop on mute on gameday whilst i cackle at 3rd down WR screens. 2. I pay for NFL gamepass, so the jets get as much money as the cowboys from me 3. Only merch i have bought recently is ravens stuff for my partner. Unfortunalty NY is the stupiest largest market in sports and will hyperinflate any valuation for them.
