Everybody knew he was a soft run blocker coming in. They also knew that his long arms and quick made up for his lack of body strength. All this was made clear at draft time. The thought was that he would develop physically over time. I think he has been pretty good at a tough position. And that there have been no surprises about him

i dont think he'll ever be able to stay anywhere above 305 during the regular season. he was under 300 in college. he got up to 315 during the combine cuz he lived in a weight room and wasnt practicing in pads. then he dropped back down when it came time to play.

he entered college at around 245, managed to put on 50 lbs of nearly all muscle. hes physically peaked, only way he can stay at 315 during the season is if he keeps KFC death bowls in his locker and eats a few after every practice.

either that or it is going to take a super diet engineered by a nobel prize winner in the field of science.

im not worried about his pass blocking that much, but i have serious doubts he'll ever be someone we can confidently run behind.

That sounds about right. His injury concerns were what caused his stock to drop some.

He's certainly a 1st round talent when healthy, but a spinal column concern is pretty serious, so I'm glad we stuck with Brick/Mangold.

I think Dbrick has played quite well for a rookie. How many rookies come and and immediately play at a HOF level with an average offense in place? I'm sure the NYJ will hire a nutritionist to get him on a bulk up diet so he can add the weight and strength he needs to dominate at this level.

D'BF is still a rookie. Let's have some patience. We were totally ready to sell DRob and look how he has started to elevate his game. The best of D'BF is yet to come.

Funny that you would say that since he leads the NFL in sacks, a pro bowler, and also has sacked Tom Brady more than any player in the NFL.

Brick will have no trouble against Taylor, simply because Taylor will elect to line up elsewhere. Taylor aint no fool. He will come from everywhere, but seldom against the best players.
